i was wondering ,i would like to put a newer style stock on my sons 6.5x55 i was hoping for a synthetic or wood,i would like it to be a thumbhole style,anyone have any ideas,the one stock place i talked to asked me if it was a carl gustav stock and i have no idea,

umm on the top of the receiver should be a name and a date (right aboave the chamber). most common is husquevarna and carl gustav( two of mine ar gustav's)they are the most common of the two ( at least in my neck of the woods )not sure who makes a thumbhole stock tho ...but there is a multitude of stockmakers who do custom work as well as the larger known brands

Boyds seems to have thumbhole stocks to fit everything else, probably have them for '96 Mausers as well.

the only markings on the action of my sons rife is

                                                HUSQVARNA VAPENFABRIK

                                                          AKTIEBOLAG

                                                                1943

Does anyone know what stock would fit it and if it comes in a thumb hole style,or if anyone makes a sporter stock

I have used Richards Microfit and it really looks great. I did a lot of the work on it but if you want to do a little work yourself, The prices are good.
