Haven't dome any serious testing with the carbine. Lapped out a Lyman sizer to .333 about 3 years ago, and just kind of set things aside. Back to it today with some Graf's brass. I'm going to load some .331 bullets cast from Lee's .329 mold (taped it to increase as cast diameter), and some cast .338 bullets sized down in the .333 die. Both are lubed with a combination of LLA and Lyman Black Moly, both  are gas check designs. Going to try them over about 16 grains of A 2400 to start.

Sounds like a good plan. I'll bet that will be a lot of fun to shoot in the straight pull.

I think I might use 4227 or 4198 instead of that nasty 2400.

A friend got all enthused over the M-S 8x56R, bought about 15 when they were at about 3 for $100.
Finally got some brass, then started slugging the barrels to find out the dimensions.
Not only were the groove diameters all over the place, most barrels had 2 or 3 different dimensions, just depended on which end you slugged it from.
He has put his in storage to age, like fine wine, or at least appreciate some, before he unloads them.
