| what methods should we as casters use to dispose of what we skim from our lead pots? what is environmentally responsible?what is ridiculous?

Mine goes into the dumpster at work. It goes to an "approved" landfill, which the EPA never did get around to defining, for disposal of used pesticide containers. Don't reckon a few pounds of lead based waste will matter much.
OTOH, the compact flouresect bulbs the green weinies want everyone to use contain enough mercury to maybe be an issue.

| Giving it back to mother earth seems like a very environmentally friendly thing to do. We take it out, use it for a while, and give it back.

My scrap dealer gives me a couple of bucks for 10 pounds of the stuff. He sells it to the Chinese in his bulk whatever contaminated metals.
