So if you use RCBS top punch /sizing dies on a lee pistol bullet, do you just have to match up the profile of the top punch?
The bullet in question is the Lee 358-140 which is coming out of my mold .360, and I believe i'm going to have trouble chambering.

That's what I do, just get as close to profile as possible. My top punches are Lyman instead of RCBS, but I don't think it matters.

Once again Charley, you are the guy in the know. Thank You.
Now for the next question, can I size these 140 swcs down to .355 to try in my carbine?

Is the Lee a TL design? You can size it down that much, but traditional lube grooves tend to close up a bit when you do. Seems the narrow TL grooves don't close as much. Try it and see., no danger involved. If your carbine doesn't like them, you'll know pretty quick.

I have found witht the tumble lube design that reducing the diameter too much may also reduce the tumble lube grooves out of existance. For conventional bullets, it does seem to be a problem, I take 458 bullets and reduce them to 452 with no problems.

I cast Lee TL's in 38/357. 44. & 45ACP. I thought I read in the mold instructions, before they got pitched that TL's don't need to be sized. Has that been revised?

Rusty,

That depends on your bore. Some I oversize the bullet about .002 or even .003 with the lee TL bullets, then Alox them. But I think sizing makes the bullets rounder. My bullets for my 45-70 are sized to .460, that is with a Lee sizer.
