Anyone use this tool? I've been reading the book Precision Shooting Reloading Guide. The section on Highpowder made we want to get a lot more serious on knowing my chamber and how far back to push the shoulder. I think I'm good with fire forming and neck sizing 308, but for my AR I do FL resize for proper functioning.

Is this tool worth the $45?

I think so. But, if you load for a lot of cartridges it will be virtually as good just to get the Hornady LnL tools and a dial caliper and much less expensive in the long run. IMHO. And I have both types, each has strengths and minor weaknesses, nothing's perfect.

Here's two links with articles using both tools. I have both the Hornady set and the RCBS Precision Mic in .223. The Hornady set is nice as it will measure most all caliber cases while the RCBS is for only one caliber. The RCBS tool is easiest to use for measuring case headspace but the overall length tool is tedious to use and takes some patience to get a consistent reading from bullet ogive to lands. Both are great tools for setting your sizing dies to push the shoulder back a measured amount. I'd recommend either.

I have one and use it in my AR's. I would definitely buy it again.

rg1,

Great links, thanks. I'll mull this over some more before I buy.
