Best Pre-Xmas present I ever got. Since I have been laid off since last year  I have been doing small handyman jobs to keep some bread in my pocket. Well, I remodeled the In-laws bathroom and finished it last week. My Father-in-law was more then capabable of doing it but threw me a bone and paid me well for the project though I refused money for my labor.

Anyhow, with the check he wrote me he hands me a box and says Happy Pre-Xmas. Well .......................................... all I have to say is WOW. Best machine I have ever seen. I have used the Lyman and the PACT version and disliked and sold both long ago. It is worth the extra bucks in my opinion for rifle reloading if you measure each powder drop and trickle powder like I do for accuracy loads.

Easy to set up, easy to calibrate and I checked the load drops on 2 other beam scales I have and this thing drops it on the money each time. So far I have used H4831, AA3100, IMR4895 & IMR4064 and it flows great.

He also handed me 200, 270 Winchester empty brass and said you can start with these.... :lol:Heh I love cool In-laws.

Glad to hear the good news.  Cool in-laws make life easier.  I have been thinking of purchasing that same item.  Anyway, congrats and enjoy your new machine.

Slingshot, the more you use the Chargmaster the more you will love it. I now have two of them and hardly ever use my older measures anymore. I went to a big Bench Rest match this summer and saw several of the big name shooters using Chargemasters and noone on the planet is more particular about loading precision than Bench shooters. One of the winners there was the writer Jim Carmichael and he showed me how he had his Chargemaster hooked to a portable power pack so he could use it at ranges there there is no electrical hookup. He said he thought the power pack also gives the Chargemaster a more uniform power supply so I've bought one of those too. Anyway, congratulations on getting such a nice tool.

Slingshot, the portable power source I bought for my Chargemaster is 12V jump starter that I bought at an auto supply store. There are several makes and models of these and mine is the Schumacher IP75, which is the smallest and cheapest I could find. Cost about $55. as I remember. Plus another $10. at Radio Shack for connecting wire that plugs into the jumpstarter's recepticle (Like a car's cigarete lighter)on one end and directly into the Chargemaster on other end. I called RCBS to see if this would damage the chargemaster and the guy there said he thought it was a great idea and might do it himself. Mr.Carmichael said the jumper he uses would run the Chargemaster for about three days before needing a recharge.

Offhand, thanks for the info. Now I have to head over to the supply store and nab the parts.

what I have seen and done  for portable power is: purchase a small 12v battery (motorcycle) and mount it in a box with a cigarette liter plug for power. It is light weight and easy to charge with a cord to your car lighter plug.
