I`m a cheap skate I guess and not prone to throw away tools that still work.I use an RCBS manual trimmer.I`ve been thinking about buying me one of the electric powered trimmers. That hand crank and tightening the case in the collet gets a bit rough after about 100 rounds.
What do you fellas use for case trimming? That has to be the most boring task involved in handloading...

I use the RCBS manual trimmer and have a bunch of the Lee Trimmers. I don't really trim enought cases at one time to purchase a power trimmer but sometime wish i had one when my hand is getting tired and i feel a blister coming on.

All I've ever used is the Lee trimmers. And you're right Timber, trimming stinks.

I hate trimming also. I bought a set of RCBS X-Dies that I'm useing for loading my 2 new 8 MM Mausers. They say that you never have to trim a case with them because they don't allow the case to stretch lengthwise during the resizing process. I'll see how well they work in the future. billt

Trimming and cleaning guns are two things I don't exactly enjoy doing.
I use a Lyman hand-crank trimmer. I force myself to trim the lot to spec first off and if I do my part I'll be able to get 2-3 loadings before they need trimmed. It's a painful task to do 100+ trimmings in one setting but I figure I'd rather go ahead and get it done and over with. Sure would be nice to have one of those electric trimmers though, surely it would make life much better when it came to trimming brass.

I use the Lee system, I no longer buy the pilots, just make one in a few minutes when I get a new caliber in.
With the universal chuck and a cheap cordless drill motor, it is ok. You cannot trim a case too short.
While the case is in the chuck, I buff with a stainless steel pad, poke a brass brush in the neck and inside and outside debur with the Lee reversible tool, whole deal about 5 or 6 seconds.

I use the LEE trimmer too with a cordless drill and i can do 250 case at a clip no problem. I did have the hand crank trimmer from RCBS and its ok for short runs. But i have 500rds+ of 308win to do and by hand just doesn't cut it. Plus the Lee stuff is so cheap and so good and quick too. Just wait till you try it. BigBill
