Do you mount it right to the bench or use the strong mount to lift it above the bench?

Mine are bench mounted. I did buy a Strongmount, but it I put it back in the box. If you like to load standing, the Strongmount is probably the way to go. I don't.

I use the strong mount for my 650;the only way for me to still have the opportunity of using the drawer underneath my bench.
