O.K. Folks,
Here is one for us old guys from way back when. Who still has a set of the Lee Powder Measures?
I have a red set and a yellow set, but they are setting on the back shelf of the loading bench, but they are waiting for the time when they will be needed.

Yes Jerry, I do still have a set and actually have used them recently just for the hell of it. Its really no diffrent than any other measure, other than the way its filled, which is kind of an art.

But it is the art of handloading getting back to the roots of how all of this was done along time ago.

Never bought the set, just have the ones that come with Lee dies. They go into the parts box, for the most part, but do get used sometimes.

I've got a set, but use them only when doing precision rifle loads. I use them to get close, when weighing each charge, then trickle up.
I'm getting a hankering to get an original Lee Loader and reloading at the range using only the Lee Loader kit and a scoop "just because". Want to see how it works.

Dirt,
Do you use a set of them? I know I can get them from Midway and other places.

I've used mine a few times. But I have a L'il Dandy with a complete set of inserts and that's much handier.

I've got a set and I use them all the time for loading small batches of Ammo. I choose the correct dipper from the chart, level the scoop, drop it in my scale pan and trickle up to the charge I want. It saves me time over readjusting my measure all the way from 223 loads to 8mm loads etc. If I'm trying a new powder or load with twenty or so loads it's a real time saver. RD

I started weighing all of my powder charges then I went shopping & bought an OHAUS Mod 7200 DUO Powder Measure for rifle & handgun and I have been using it for over 30 years it's very high quality like everything OHAUS makes, they show up on ebay every so often.OHAUS sold the powder measure to RCBS but they never produced it. Yes, I still have a set of the yellow scoops and use them occasionally. I usually use them to get in the ball park and then trickle to get the exact weight. At one time, that was the only means of measuring powder I had. I would use the credit card method of leveling off the powder in the scoop. I was able to get some very tight and consistent groups this way.

I just ordered two sets of the Lee Scoops, maybe a X Mas present for some beginners.
I have my Dillon powder measures that are left over from when I had my 450/550s, the one you push the bar, a set of the Frankfurt scales from Midway, a PACT dispenser with scales, a Lyman beam balance and of course my Lee scoops.
They all have their place on loading bench. I do use the Lee scoops for using COW as a filler.

Run,
See I have that advantage, I answer to the ground hogs and coyotes, which I seem to have none of those these days, so I don't get too many questions about what I have.
Over on the CB Forum I posted my latest projects.

And my lady friend was out there helping me, she is currently back home in Ontario.

I've been using my set as a way to gradually reduce the amount of sugar I have in my tea & coffee.
I'm totally hooked on my RCBS Chargemaster combo.
