Hi Guys -

I've got a Lee autodisk pro (using two disks stacked together).  Is there any benefit to putting a powder baffle in the hopper?  During my setup, it looked like I was throwing ±.1 grain charges which is plenty accurate, but I also only had maybe a    1/4 - 1/2" of powder in the hopper.

I can build one up easy enough with some sheet metal, but before I go thru the hassle, thought I would ask the question.  Thanks!!

Joe

The little hole in the powder shutoff in the bottom of the reservoir should also function as a baffle. Never have had a problem with the autodisk pro.

I made one long ago for my Lymamn 55, have never seen fit to make one for my Pro (well, either of them).

If it is throwing consistent charges, I don't see the use in bothering to, because it's only to get it to throw consistent charges.

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt.
No gain with powder baffle. Main concerns I have found, and I love the measure, are
1) wear—the measure wears enough that the disk is not moving completely over the spout (however, the durn thing stays consistent anyway, just throws lighter charges)
2) Discovering that it moved off the "ON" position. Again, if it stayed set at the same position, it will still throw consistent charges. I check it every so often and have considered the "duct tape" solution.
If you have to have better than ±1gn, then get the RCBS ChargeMaster or similar and you can set your mind at ease...

Hello to all.
I use a homemade powder baffle in my auto disk powder measure but I have not noted some benefit.
With or without is the same matter!!!
Ciao
Nino
