I'm looking at setting up for ceramic tumbling media, but before I jump in I would like some advice.

1st) Does ceramic media hang up in the flash holes like crushed walnut hulls do?  I like to resize/de-prime before I tumble.

2nd) How long does the ceramic media last and are there any additives to extend its life?

3rd) Any advice on what set-up or what brands work well/best?

Thanks to all who share their experience, Schutzen

The media that I have used was of two sizes, 2mm & 4mm. I found that the smaller size packed in the primer pocket, and the larger packed inside the case.

The media will probably last for years, and I don't know of any additives that are used.

Sorry, but I don't have the suppliers name anymore. I found them through Google - "ceramic media"..

The "polishing" is just that.. By that I mean that the stuff I had didn't remove tarnish or discoloration, only provided a "sheen", if that's the right word..

All-in-all, I prefer Lyman's green media, and zip it up with Flitz or Simichrome polish when it gets a little dark.

This isn't much help, but I'm sure that others on this forum will chime in.
