I use a Redding Model 2 scale and an old RCBS powder trickler.
Use a Lee powder trickler, the cheaper one, that I am beginning to like.  Adjusted the drum and it throws pretty accurate charges.

I have 2 RCBS 10-10 scales, a Frankford digital scale, 2 RCBS tricklers plus a set of Lee Dippers and an Ohaus Labatory tri-beam set of scales.

Dillon digital. seems to be fine. I had a Lyman 1500 and was happy with it but someone else wanted it more.

I started with a Lee scale, but out of all the Lee stuff I own, the scale just seemed like junk and I didn't trust it.

I bought an older RCBS/Ohaus 505 on ebay that I now use.

I use a Lee Perfect powder measure most of the time and weigh every 10th charge on the scale.  BTW, I checked the accuracy of the Lee scale with the RCBS and it is dead on as accurate as the better scale, it's just not as easy to use/read/

I don't have a trickler. When I am developing a load and weighing every charge I use Lee dippers and just tap powder into the pan until I get what I want.

Fella's;

My original scale is an RCBS part # 09070. It's got the micrometer type tenth grain poise. My current, and go-to scale is the Dillon D-terminator digital.

The powder trickler is an RCBS. I've sworn for twenty years I'm gonna put lead in the bottom of it sometime real soon now.

900F   It took me about twenty years to lead mine.

I did remember almost at the last minute, to remove the drop tube with it's little plastic sleeve.. Melting plastic stinks....

I use a Lyman #55 measure and a Redding beam scale, both bought by my father in the '50s. I got tired of tapping out granules, so got a RCBS trickler.

It's the venerable Lee beam scale for me.  Quick and accurate once you get used to it.  I lock the needle on the weight I want, then adjust my powder measure to go just a bit light for rifle or precision handgun loads, then trickle up to center it.

I do find it difficult to throw the powder into that shallow pan without losing some, if it's a coarse stick powder - so  I'll throw it from the measure into a deep cup (the Lee dies top cup is perfect!) then pour from there into the scale pan.  Slow but I get ALL the powder in.

I've got an old set of the RCBS 10-10's sitting on the table by my RCBS charge masters. Done enough double checking that the covers are on the 10-10's but if something ever happens to the Chargemaster the 10-10'a will be good to go. Redding trickler tho, like the heavy base!

I too am still using the Lyman/Ohaus M5 I bought new in '65, it just won't wear out, still as dead on accurate as the day I got it. Bet it has at least another 45 or so years left in it. Ain't no quirky digital gonna do that!

Finally had to give up on commercial powder tricklers after owning four that were too "rough" operating and/or too light. I finally made my own with a 4" section of 1 1/2" brass bath sink drain pipe for the body and a 4" x .25" diameter section of auto radio antenna and radio knob for the spill tube. A cast iron 2 1/2" pipe cap fitting tuned smooth on a lathe, then filled with about 2 1/2 pounds of lead makes the bottom. Love it, looks good, it's stable and VERY smooth working!

Ditto on the Lee scale for accuracy..... backed up with a Lyman 1500 digital for fast work and an RCBS trickler behind the Lee scale.

I've used an old oil dampened Redding for years and it works just fine. I was given a Lee safety and I like it too. I did fill the bottom of it with lead to keep it in place. I also have to adjust/set the bar by removing it before trickling.

RCBS 5-10 micrometer adjust scale, magnetically damped.

Lee (I think) trickler (it's red). Remove the trickler tube/spout, and the bottom separates from the powder section, and is hollow, with room for several ounces of birdshot. Put the parts back togethter, it can't come apart unless you deliberately disassemble it.

I have a red trickler, but it's not Lee. I looked at the Lee website and couldn't find a trickler. They may make one or used to make one. But what Oldstuff described is just like my trickler, except I used modeling clasy and bird shot to give it some weight.

Now I will have to take it apart to see who made it.

I have a PACT Scale, some cheapy digital scale from Midway, a Lyman balance beam scale, a Belding Mull measure and I have a digital kitchen scale for heavier stuff.

Jerry
