Just got a set of 30 cal Carbine dies that are as old as the hills. The box says:---The Lyman Gun Sight Corporation of Middlefield, Conn. They look in wonderful condition but was wondering if anyone could date them for me. When did they stop using their full name, wc

the dies were made sometime after ww2 but more than likely before 1969 when lyman was taken over by the leisure group LLC tho they could be newer than that and shipped in new old stock packaging ,i believe that they started die production circa 1925 but the 30 carbine hadnt yet been invented ,they use the name "lyman products" now or at least that's the name on my last current lyman purchase , so umm about these new hill in ur area ....lolz

Loads form the 30 carbine are in the 41st Edition Handbook, copyright 1957. My 32 S&W Long dies also say the Lyman Gunsight Corporation on the box.  Black box with gold writting says Lyman All-American reloading dies. Even have the instruction's that came with the set but no date on them. They also came with a wrench to tighten and losen the dies in the press.

I have couple sets of dies that came in the Black Box with Gold lettering. They are still very dies and have been in use for many years on my bench.

I have a copy of the lyman reloading manual # 44 dated 1967 and uses the name Lyman Gunsight Corporation Middlefield Connecticut. The #45 edition uses the name Lyman Products Corp. dated 1970. Hpoe this helps.
