My sister is a guard there and will check with her also. They should be in great condition. They only fam fire them once a year. I used to have a mini but some scum sucking low life broke into our home while I was at church and "liberated" it. wc

Is it possible for someone such as I to obtain one for the exchange of funds?

They're probably the "good ones" too: stainless LE models with flash suppressors. I have one in pristine condition.

Talked with a Salisbury guard and he did not know anything about it. Will keep my "ear to the ground", wc

I'm a little unsure of State policies, under which that prison would be, but in Federal agencies, they never sell the guns to the public, or even to the agent that the weapon was assigned to. Once a handgun, shotgun, or rifle is worn out, damaged beyond repair, or mass-replaced, they are destroyed. It's such a waste, though I can see their (liability) reasons.

There were a lot of "police trade in" Glock 22s around last year. Supposedly they were dumped due to the "blow up" issue. I don't know what the transfer process was on these but they eventually made it to the used counters of regular gun stores for $389.

The old Highway Patrol handguns were sold to the public after being offered to the individual officers. Do not know what the current regs are, wc

The last LE Minis I saw were rock and rollers. I hope these are not, because the public will never see them.

Mine's an LE but it's not a full auto. Ruger had a deal going back in the mid-nineties when I got mine. I could be off a bit, but I seem to remember the cost being $450 or so?

Cyberguy, they're fun....for a bit. Then they get old. We can carry the full-auto M-4 at work and after reloading a 30 rd mag a few times, only to see it vanish in mere seconds, it gets old. Mine is the select-fire, but not the new "burst" rifles, so we have to practice trigger techniques to fire 3rd bursts. I'm no longer a proponent of full-auto for law enforcement. Semi-auto is fine, or at most, the burst rifles is as far as I'd go. After 25 full years on the job, I see absolutely no need for a full-auto firearm. Maybe there's a guy or three across the nation who was in a situation where it would've been nice to have one, but that's it as far as I know.

I heard that Ruger recently re-designed the Mini to make it more accurate and better overall. What year did those models come out?
