Stiller action, bottom metal, 20MOA rail, and Timney trigger
Stainless, Kreiger 6.5mm barrel, no. 4, 1:9 twist
Chambered in .260 Rem, finished to 26"
Robertson Composites two-tone, General Purpose Hunting stock

Right now it's wearing a Tasco Titan 3.5-12x50 (30mm tube)). I have been waiting for some Warne rings from lockstock.com. Their site is down and no one is answering the phone. I called Warne and they are shipping them to me directly. Once I get them I will put on my Leupold VXII 3-9x50.

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet  rifle:thumbs: I am also a 260 fan what bullets are ya planning to shoot? I hammered a huge mule deer doe on the 8th of this month with my 260 and a 120 Btip at just a little over 200 yards same result as always down in a pile dead as a stick after one jump at impact a stumble and thump lights out  ahead of the diaphram just red liquid jello that used to be lungs.

OOps did I mention Nice rifle?

Thanks for the compliments.

Right now I'm playing with some 85 grain Sierra's and 90 grain Speers. Next year, for deer, I'm planning on trying either some 125 grain Partitions or some 130 grain TSX's.

125 partitions and H-4831 are just like peanut butter and jam simple and quite satisfying.  I am working now with Nosler brass in the 260 and though it is expensive it is quite excellent and no case prep. If you really want to ruin a coyote's day give him a 100 ballistic tip over H-414 or 4350. You have enough barrel length to use either 7828 or H-1000 with 140's and get more speed than those of us with shorter barrels:thumbs:

The .260 Rem is one of a half dozen (or fewer) truly worthwhile cartridges introduced in the past half century.

I am actually using Nosler brass right now. I picked up a paltry 40 pieces this summer when I bought my dies from mysticprecision.

I have a jug of H4831sc that I've been using for my 30-06. The 85 and 90 grain loads are over some H414 that I bought when I had a 22-250. Seems like I picked the chambering based on my current powder inventory :nut:.

And by the way, the lockstock.com web site has now changed their message to

"We are currently closed. Thank you for your patronage "

Too bad - they had good deals even for us up here.

Thanks countryboy.

It took a total of about 10 months to come together. I ordered the barrel and had it shipped directly to a reputable 'smith. While waiting for that to happen, I ordered the action. Once the barrel arrived, I shipped the action to the gunsmith. He did his thing and shipped it back to me. In the mean time, I had been talking with the stock builder about what I was looking for, colour, etc. I shipped him the barreled action and he built my stock and bedded it for me.

I have purposely kept all of the receipts separate for fear that I may actually begin to add them up. Suffice it to say that you could probably buy an HS Precision rifle and have better resale value than if you went this route. I love it though - it's mine and I can't seem to envision a situation where I would want to sell it.

Amen Brothers:thumbs:. With those lighter bullets 85's or 90's do not over look Imr 4064 or RL-15 I would think you should know about Higgenson Powders in eastern ONT if you do not let me know and I can send you the link trust me you will like what you see as far as powders bullets brass primers are listed and should be close enough to you to make shipping less expensive than it is out to here over 4000' km west.

Higginsons is within a 1.5 hour drive for me - I've been a few times.

I really have to use up what I've got - the stuff ain't cheap.

Scratchy, That is one nice looking gun. The only thing that could be better about it is, if it were mine. Someone told me that the 11th commandment should be "thou shalt not covet thy neighbors rifle". RD
