With all this talk about pistol carbines I'd like to see a 1892 in.357/44 Bain and Davis. The case is Damn near the same size as a 44/40, with a lot more poop to it. I'd bet you would be over powering the thin jacketed bullets, but IF there was a good controlled expanding bullet it would be a dream fun gun to have.
Brings back memories of actually shopping at Bain & Davis. Was (maybe still is) a great little gun shop. They used to specialize in sporterizing Ruger Mini 14's. They could make them shoot and put them in a beautiful Walnut stock. They were nice people to deal with.
