Morning Fellas >> Finally got the barrel broke in over the course this last two weeks so it was time for its first 3-shot group at 100 yds. just to see what was what. The top hole of the first group was the first shot taken, then three groups of three followed. It was a fairly windy day so I was timing a couple shots between the truck rocking just a bit when I felt it. I'd like to think the far hole in group #2 was caused by me not waiting out the wind at one point, with the last two touching, but it coulda been me just as easy. Still getting the feel of this 4 oz. RifleBasix trigger possibly. It is a light one.
The load is of 95 grs. H50BMG and the 300 gr. SMK. I was fireforming cases still and velocities were averaging a mundane 2500 fps (I'm shooting for 3100 fps with a MAX load). Certainly nothing that could even remotely be considered a tailored handload and still averaging .369" so far. I'm tickled. Gonna scrub the barrel down, shoot 10 more, scrub down and again until I've got everything fireformed.
Then we should be ready for some development. More to come. >> klallen

Excellent results for your first groups Klallen... She's shootin' as good as she looks.
Did the trigger come set at 4 oz's or did you work on it...

Thanks, GUNRUNNER. Pleased as could be so far.
This trigger assembly is fully adjustable. When 50 asked how light I wanted the trigger pull, I told him as light as we could safely get it. With that in mind, he suggested going with this competition RifleBasix set-up and had it adjusted to just a bit over 4 oz. when I picked the finished rifle up. It does have a range of pull weights that can be choosen and honestly, I don't know what it can be set at at the heavy end. At the light end, it blew me away, though. I mean, totally blew me away. I'd never used anything with a pull that light and for a benchrest type rifle, I fell in love with it instantly. Kinda funny with such a heavy, beefy, bulky rifle to have such a dainty, light trigger pull. It's a dandy, for sure. Chat with ya later. >> klallen
