This is my LH Sako i built in 257 Ack Imp. I purchased the action in the white when Sako was selling them to the public. I had ER Shaw barrel with their # 2 contour and matte blue the action and barrel. This rifle has proved to be one of my best long range deer rifles and i have killed the last nine bucks that i have used it on, with 9 shots. I use only one load in this rifle, the Nosler 100 gr Partition with IMR 4350. This rifle shoots around 1/2 with this load and kills deer like lighting. I used a Fajen Lam. stock and glassed the action and floated the barrel. I use the 100 BT to form cases with, and the forming load is under an inch at 100 yards. The 257 is one of  the best Ack cal you can have your rifle chambered for. The last buck i took with this rifle was around 300 yards and he never moved from his tracks, just dropped straight down and didn't even roll over. It rivals my 25-06 with less powder . For deer size game it can't be beat.

You guys have me tweaked on these 25 calibers here as of late.I looked at a Wetherby Vanguard in 257 Weatherby Mag a few weeks ago...

You won't be able to stand it until you have a 25 cal rifle and you could do a lot worst than the 257 Wby. Vanguard. I have a new Wby Accumark LH in 7mm STW . The fist 3 shot group at 100 yards with Rel 22 and the 140 Accubond was under 1/2 inch.  I haven't used it for hunting as of yet . I believe it will be a great long range deer rifle.

Hey bea..I`v got one 25-06 Rem here.It is a Ruger M77 tang safety.I like the heck out of it.My 25-06 Ack is supposed to be done this week and then I start metal finishing on it myself...

I`m getting to be a fan of the quarter bores...If I have another .25 built,it`ll be a 257 Roberts or 257 AI..

I derne dnear bought that 257Weatherby mag after I handled it for a few minutes..The temptation was great..:sad:But I`m saving some money for a .17Rem project and its pretty expensive for the components I plan to use...:thumbs:

I have the 25-06 . I use a LH Mod 700 Rem and SS McMillian # 3 contour barrel and bedded it in the HS Precision Stock and had the barreled action finshed in the Black T finsh. The rifle has a Leupold 3.5x10 with AO and the Leupold CPC Ret. This rifle loves the 100 gr Nosler BT with Rel 22 , groups are 1/2 or better with this load. My Ruger 77 is chambered in 240 Wby.

I never tried Rel 22 in the 257 but i am thinking of  trying Rel 19 which is a great powder in the standard 257 Bob. The 257 and my 6mm Rem is why i purchased the 8 pound keg of H4350.
