10/22 in 22 LR

Any quality bolt gun in 30-06.

Remember, you'll run out of ammo at some point (even if you reload the 30-06).  I can't think of any calibers used more widely in the US or abroad.  May not necessarily be easy to find when the SHTF, but will certainly be easier to obtain than WSSM or Wby ammo.

As mentioned, those two are quite well suited for any type of game in the US and most of the world.

I'd take my Model 70 Winchester .30-'06 and a good, bolt action .22 or .22 mag. Some of the lever and bolt-action .22's can accomodate .22 shorts, which could be a plus if it came to taking small game without attracting any attention. Of course, you could always duct tape a 20-oz. pop bottle over the muzzle and make even less noise, 'specially with a CB Short.

I would take my Remington 721 in 30-06 and AR.  Liked the M79, more fun to shoot than 203.  Anybody besides me ever shoot rifle grenades from M1 Garand and M14?  No fun.

several years back I read a magazine article about hunters on safari in africa armed with 30-06's which they successfully used on plains game.A friend of mine wanted to take his 300wm to africa but stopped on advice of his ph due to gov't seizing rifles of hunters & keeping them.He used their rifles on his big game hunt.

2 Rifles!!!...Holy Cow!!! Well I guess I will make my pick but I do protest understand, cause nobody should have just 2 guns or rifles, more like a half dozen at least.

I would have to designate my .338 Winchester magnum, as the big game rifle, in which I would depend upon for such things as moose, elk, bear etc.

Now all other things considered, like whitetail deer, coyote killing, eradicating fields of such as goundhogs, P-dogs and what not, I would place that responsibility on my trusted model 70 Winchester, in the form of a 25/06 caliber. I would feel completely content with these two calibers to cover all things across the board gents.

get rid of all rifles but two     ...     hmmmmmm.

hypothetically speaking (of course) :

ruger m77 markII - .358 sta . for any big game animal i'd ever be interested in hunting world-wide.

something for varmints. don't matter much  .243 or .25-06, maybe.

thank goodness you're leaving the handguns alone.  i'd never be able to pick just two, out of that group.

Only two rifles?

Doesn't the Constitution forbid cruel and unusual punishments?

(I already voted: .30-'06 and 22RF.)
