My 350 constantly will put two round with in 1"(often alot less) at either 100 or 200 yard the I ALWAYS get one flyer, it may open the group to two inches or so.   To prove this theory last year I shot three tree shout groups, had five round inside of 1" @200 yards and three flyers that opended it up to three inches.  Tried new powder yesterday and batabing bataboom two and one flier.  It seem to always be the third round, I do not let the barrel get any warmer that warm, take a break inbetween groups, this seems normal for this rifle, is this really normal???

Hmmmm Sounds like its broken but dont worry , I'll give you five whole dollars for it:wink:

Hehehe  just kidding , yeh Im not sure about the whole flyer theory , I know it happens alot but I always thought that it was either caused by barrel heating up and/or the barrel getting dirty.... I usually dont have flyers but on occasion I do get the odd one here and there but I just think its me because its so in frequent .... The target on my avatar is 2 three shot groups at 100 yards with my AR  and thats how it shoots 99.9% of the time

My rifles all have quirky things they do with patterns. Sooner or later you will find a  combination of powder and bullet that does not have the flyer. That's the sweet spot.

I have the rifle free floated and one of my buddies at work said add a little  pressure under the barre and see if that works, so I'll give that a try this weekend.

Is your rifle action  bedded & barrel free floated that may help, what brand of scope are you using?I helped my gs by taking a client/customer of his to our range to fire his pre 64 Winchester 375 H&H which had been bedded & barrel free floated but it was topped with  a Redfield 1.5x5 that had been repaired twice for not holding point of aim.The client fired his 375 3 at 12 o'clock & the 4th at 5 o'clock low & right,I fired it and had the exact same results,it was the scope again. He went on his Alaskan Brown Bear hunt but took his pre 64 Winchester 300 win mag & shot a very large griz. My 06 & 300wm Sakos actions were bedded with brownells bisonite & barrels free floated  & tuned by the same GS,  I've always used Leupold Scopes and never had these problems.

Yes I have bedded the action, and free floated the barrel.  I'm going to try to add some pressure to the barrel and see if that helps.  The scope I'm using is a Nikon 3-9 pro-staff.  I do not believe it to be the scope, but I could also be wrong.

Brownells has a series of books titled Gunsmith Kinks that cover  all sorts of problems including solving accuracy problems.I have issues 1 &2.When I mentioned this on a shooting & hunting forum several members responded that they had all of the volumes and used them regularly.A friend of mine bought a clean 300wm Sako at a gunshow.I told him about my GS so he took it there to be bedded & tuned .My friend went to the local range and fired it putting 3 shots in a .308 hole then he fired a few more & couldn't open the bolt until it cooled down.He took it back to the gs who fired a series of rounds then couldn't open the bolt, thinking it was the barrel he sent it to douglas to be rebarreled but it occurred again when it was returned. He figured it out to be a defective receiver that tweaked when it reached a certain temperature .The problem was resolved by ordering a Sako new barreled receiver that fit perfectly in the bedded stock, when my friend he tried it out he repeated the 3 shot group. My friend still has that rifle and won't part with it  .Our GS passed in 1990 after complications from bypass surgery, haven't found anyone that could equal his expertise.

Yea, these consistent flyers always screw me up too.  In your case, it must be related to heat or fouling, or the like. . .but not sure.

I was getting flyers with my Sav BVSS, until I bedded it.  I never did analize the flyers much.  My point is that if your rifle is possible shifting in it's bedding, it will throw flyers.

If bedding, mounts and scope can be eliminated, you may want to add more powder.  Sometimes it is that simple.  I have seen flyers which a little more pressure corrected.

Sorry it took me so long to reply but I'm in the middle of a busy spell and hopefully it will include playing with the 350  I have switched powder and am now getting 2754 with the Barnes 225 TSX  I hope to do some accuracy testing Saturday before my youngest sons birthday party and my packing bags to leave again.  I have to leave for a week for firefighter training and possibly fighting wildfires.

I added some pressure under the barrel seemed to do the trick 1" groups!
