A good friend of mine and his wife haunt the yard and garage sales in their city, and once in a while come across some real deals. Guns and knives for him and jewelry for her. Yesterday they stopped at a sale and finally made up their minds to have a look-see. Another guy piled out of his car about 10 seconds before my friends left theirs. The guy stopped at a table that had a 10/22 and an older Stevens Favorite on it. My friend was kicking himself for not being quicker because the other guy got both for $150. That wasn't bad enough because the buyer asked the seller if he had any more guns, and the seller replied "Yeah, I got an old Gar-rand (how he put it), but it ain't made by Gar-rand. I can't remember who". Natually the buyer asked to see it. My friend was peeking over the buyers shoulder when the seller handed him the rifle. It was made by a feller named Winchester...VG condition. The seller asked $100 for the Gar-rand and the buyer about ripped his pocket off yanking his money out... My friend said he had to leave before he blew a gasket..
