I jus tbought a weatherby vanguard in the .338 and found a 160 grain tipped tsx bt made by barnes but cant get any reloading info on this bullet. I was just wondering what kind of velocity i will get out of it I'm hoping at least 3350.

if you mean the 338-378 whby, hodgdon has data for the xfb that will be safe with the tsx tipped.the 225 bullet will shoot 1.5 inches lower at 500 yd with a 300 yd zero, but the 10 mph wind drift will be 6 inches less and energy will be 900 ft lb more.you will be handicapping yourself with the lighter bullet unless you are just looking for a light load.

I ordered a box of those for my .338 Lapua. I also bought one of the new Barnes manuals and it doesnt have any info on the .338 160 grain bullet in Win or Lapua. Must be newer than the book.

Midwayusa has some nosler .338 accubonds on sale have read positive responses on the accubonds on several forums from international users.I bought 180gr  blems for use in my 300wm that I used on a cow elk in AZ 3 yrs ago. I have another anterless elk tag for the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation late next month and will use them again.
