I am looking for soemthing like a Win Marlin 94 in 45 ACP. Anyone have one? How well does it shoot? I just want a rifle that uses the same ammo as my 1911 that I carry in the field.

Thanks,

Jerry

You might be able to find a Marlin Camp Rifle in .45ACP in the used gun depts. but they were discontinued a few years back. I know they used regular 1911 mags.

Good luck.

this is not me but its a quote that i found on a different site  ,i thought  you might find it interesting

"About 25 years ago Wayne Schwartz modified a Marlin 1894 .44 Magnum to .45 ACP for me and this worked really well.  I let Wayne talk me out of the rifle when I left Ruger and have regretted it ever since, so I've had another done.  This time I took a .45 Colt Cowboy II and sent it to John Taylor who set the .45 Colt barrel and magazine tube back, rechambered the barrel, fitted a new extractor, and reworked the lifter.  Conversion cost was $300 plus sights and return FedEx.

It holds THIRTEEN rounds in the magazine tube, as finished with 22-1/2" barrel), is 39" overall and weighs 6 lbs. 12 ozs. I'll be using this with 230-gr. lead FN  Cowboy slugs and JHPs.  A charge of 5 grs. of Bullseye and 230-gr. LFN gives about 1000 f.p.s. in a rifle, vs. 830 in an M1911 pistol. Given the limited powder capacity and faster powders used in the .45 ACP you only get modest velocity gains in a longer at permissible chamber pressures (20,000 cup max.)  I'm not interested in seeing how hot I can load .45 ACP in a rifle, because that defeats the whole purpose of the gun, to use my handgun ammo in it, and vice-versa.  I won't load or shoot anything in this rifle that .45 ACP revolvers or an M1911 can't handle. "

With luck, you might find one of the Marlin  Camp Carbines, as previously posted. Saw one on Guns America for the low, low,  price of $699!

I kind of wanted one of the conversion kits that converted large ring Mausers to .45 ACP or .45 Winchester magnum. I waited too long, they aren't in production any more.

The camp carbines are outstanding.  It features a 16 1/4" bbl and shares clips with 1911 pistols.  I have one that I use for home defense as well as plinking.  Lots of fun!

I kinda of looking for a "Rabbit Rifle" sort of things. I walk all of my fields regularly and have small game pop up now and then, right now the ground hogs are probably getting ready for a long winter and soon the coyotes will start getting really brave due to hunger.

Right now I carry my Kimber Stainless Target Model on my hip and my Marlin 336 in 30-30 or35 Rem with me.

The camp carbine was also made in 9mm.  Another rifle, although not in .45acp, was the Ruger PC4 in .40 S&W.  Nice handling rifle and would be good for what you want.

The thing with the camp carbine is the clip is the same as the 1911, as has been discussed.  They are getting extremely expensive and harder to  find.

I may look at getting a 1894 in some variety in 45 LC and use that.

I have never seen one, but someone was making a 45 ACP conversion for the M1 Carbine. That would be very interesting if you could find one.

In the last Resident Evil movie, Clare was feeding 45 ACP in to some sort on Win 94.
