I finally splashed out to buy a new rifle for myself and after quite a bit of research I finally decided on a Tikka T3 Stainless in .308 Win. I had a pretty strict budget to work with and although I probably would have liked a Thompson bolt action (we can't have semi-autos here as you all know) or a Browning A bolt, the exchange rate killed off those options. As it is I paid $1200.00 for the Tikka not including a scope and rings. I hope to put a Leupold VX 1 4-12 x40 on it but the prices of the Leupolds has jumped along side the rifle prices. I would like to hear your opinions of what I have purchased and if there are any suggestions for a better scope, thanks

You purchased a great rifle in one of the best cal for all around use. I would go with at least a VX-2 and would prefer the VX-3 . If you load your own then try Varget or Hod or IMR 4895 with a 165 gr Nosler BT or Accubond or Hornady SST or Interbond for hunting big game. Enjoy your new toy.

Hi, will post some Pics as soon as I pick it up, we have to wait for a "Permit to acquire" here in Queensland (Australia in general I think) so I should be in possession next Saturday morning, then straight out to the Range Complex to sight her in. Thanks for the advice,

Hi again, I have the rifle now and will post some pics asap, that is when I can get my son to load them up so I can post them, it shoots very well at 100 yards but I have a problem at 200 yards but that is an issue I have posted in the reloading section, thanks Ian
