I've got a friend who owns a Kleinguenther Rifle, made in Seguin, Texas with a Swarocski 2.2x9x42 Habicht scope. The rifle is chambered in .411 KDF Mag. and he also has a set of reloading dies with it. He wants to sell the gun, and he's asking $ 2500.00 for it. I can't find this gun in any Blue book or gun traders guide. The gun has a muzzle break on it. The gun is in excellent condition.. Does anyone know the approximate value of this gun? Thanks

there's this make of rifle over on guns america for $1250. no scope. .308, i believe. no idea if same models. rifles usually command a premium when chambered in dangerous game cartridges for some reason. the swary scope'd probably cost a little bit.
you could certainly get yourself into a more affordable dangerous game rifle. that said, i just don't know enough about the make.
welcome to the site. see ya around.

you've got a pretty decent pre-purchase situation with it being a friend that currently owns the rifle. have him let ya take it to the range for some shooting. get groups on paper. a beautiful gun's much prettier when it shoots well. test it out.
also, found this on another forum :
Kleinguenther Distinctive Firearms (KDF) was incorporated in 1970 in Seguin, TX. Bob Kleinguenther convinced Voere (German not Austrian) that their rifle model, the Shikar, was not going to be successful and that he and they should set about designing a new rifle to be marketed by KDF in the U.S. In 1972, the design was approve and sent to production with a model number of K-14 for Kleinguenther project number 14. In Europe it was referred to as M2145. About 7,000 rifles were produced between 1973 and 1977 with final sales taking place as late as 1978.
The bolt has 3 lugs with the extractor machined into the side of one on the lugs similar to a Sako extractor except for this placement. The lugs are the same O.D as the bolt body and fit into a threaded locking insert that is press fit into the front of the receiver body. The barrel threads into this insert. The barrel threads are same as a large ring Mauser 1.100" x 12 TPI. This rifle utilizes a version of the 'drop box magazine'. It has an excellent adjustable trigger which also contains the function of a bolt stop. With the rifle completely unloaded, open the bolt and pull back on the trigger which lowers a plunger type stop that rides in a slot in the bolt. The bolt can then be fully removed.
I have one of the Shikars but not a K-14. They commanded a good price then but have gotten to be stupid expensive due to collectors. An interesting aside; every K-14 that Bob Kleinguenther received from Germany was disassembled and he personally bedded each and every one.
from the very little i've read since you started your post, there's not been a single negative opinion i've seen, except regarding price. the rifles are described as custom quality, wonderful triggers, beautiful yet pricey because of collector status nowadays.
that is a big chunk of change to trade for a rifle, but it certainly sounds like you'd be getting a quality rifle. $2500 worth of rifle? that's a decision for you to make.
good luck with the decision. if ya get it, make sure to post some pics.

I've decided that with the economy as it is, I can't really comfortably part with $ 2500.00 for another rifle, so I'm not going to purchase this rifle. I told my friend that I would try and help him sell it. If any of you guys are interested in buying one really quailtity rifle and scope.. let me know. I'll send pictures. He brought the rifle by my house this morning. I'll email pictures if you're interested.
Thanks
