180gr xtp for .44 magnum

Does anyone have data for the 44 Remington Magnum using the .430 dia 180 gr Hornady XTP and Alliant Unique?

Hornady's reloading manual #5 starts with 6.9 grs. of Unique at 1200 fps with that 180 gr. XTP and tops out with 14.4 grs. at 1500 fps.  They use Winchester WLP primers.  Velocities are from a 7 1/2" barrel of a Ruger BlackHawk.

Never used a bullet that light before in my .44 RemMag.  Good luck to ya.  >>  klallen

Gotta agree with kallen. Anything hit with that 180 gr is going to have a bit of an explosion so to speak. Usually the XTP boxes have charts in them to show the relative velocity that they will be effectiv at.
