Didn't even know there was a CFE pistol powder. What calibers is it supposed to work with.

Me neither, but would like to hear more.  Anything on pistol powders is great with the shortages right now.

Brand new powder that should be out right now, but hard telling when we'll see it. It is supposed to be optimized for 9mm, .40 and 45acp

I've been happy with the cfe223 so I hope this is just as good for the pistol loads

Okay, why the jump from 9mm to .40 & 45 acp? My .38/.357 should be good in there too I would presume? Unless it's because of the shorter shells for the .40/45 acp?

Just looked on Hodgdon's web site and they don't even list a CFE pistol powder. Who is making it?

Gents keep in mind the CFE rifle powder is just mil-surplus stuff that has a new chemical added to it to help it reduce copper fouling.

This new pistol powder will be the same base powder (LilGun for example) but with a the copper fouling eraser chemical used in the rifle powder. You're best bet is to find what base powder they used to make it. (Betting it's Mil-Surplus that's used in 9mm stuff)

Hodgdon's Website lists CFE Pistol powder on its reloading data pages. Since I reload for target shooting, it doesn't seem to offer much over other powders. But that's merely a cursory opinion. It might be the cat's pajamas for all I know.

The LGS say they keep ordering it and it is more miss than hit when it comes in.  I check in about once a week, I know that both of them is a powder that I would like to try and if it works well for indoor paper target. I would try to by the 8 pounders of each and only have one powder for each caliber!
I'm hopeful that one of the vendors at the local show will have some next show and I can get them.

OK just got the new catalog from Precision Reloading in S.D. they showing Hodg CFE Pistol power and say :

CFE Pistol greatly deters copper fouling round after round! CFE ,which represents the proprietary chemistry named "Copper Fouling Eraser " was developed for the U.S. rapid fire military systems.Whatever your game is as a top gun competitor or target plinker you will benefit significantly with longer periods of top accuracy with less barrel cleaning time and minimal muzzle flash. CFE Pistol is outstanding in 9mm,38 Super, 40 S & W ,the 45 ACP and many more CFE Pistol is a spherical powder that meters with supweior uniformity.

That's that Have a great day boys & girls,play nice !!!!!
