No way. I take rifles always and sometimes bring them and sometimes carry them ! The one on the left is the S&W 460 and right is Ruger R.H. 454 . I know you knew that !  I tried about 5 times to send a pic of my .300 rum but I couldn't get the picture large no matter what size I checked in photobucket .

Got home late from shooting. Found it. Nice. You win Bro ! I give up ! I'm going out tomorrow to look for a 20 mm Vulcan or something.... :lol:PS. that Encore was the 28 in. 243 barrel. I'm thinking of getting some lighweight bullets for it to see what it can do. Maybe 75 grainers.

I forgot to tell you. My girlfriend got that Wy. plate for me on ebay for my B.D. . I was born on July 13, 1957. Even the 1st two numbers add up to 7. (she had to tell me that) What's cool is my son was also born on 7/13 and I have a cousin that was born 3 min. after me. Also an uncle that is dead now that was also born on 7/13. Wierd or what ?     Needless to say, 13 is my favorite/llucky no.

A lot of good people were born in July. I was hatched on the 27th. There is a place on the web that you can buy a 20mm bolt action rifle. The last time I saw it, it was a little over 6 notes in the key of G. Practice ammo was $8 per round and good ammo was $15 per round. According to them anyway.

Hey bea175, I shot a few rounds with the 460 through the chrono yesterday. The factory Hornady 200 gr. SST averaged 2127 fps. I think they say 2200+ fps. . Also a Cor Bon 275 gr. Barnes XBP factory at 1717 fps.. For the heck of it I shot one of my 454 reloads w/300 gr. Hornady and it was 1473 fps. .It was 30.0 grs. of H110. My Ruger SRH w/9.5 in barrel is about the same at a little over 1500 fps. I also shot a few Black Hills 45 LC's trough it. SLOW. aver. 655 fps. I forgot to take any 460 reloads w/300 gr.

I fellas!

First time poster here but I've been reloading for a little over 25yrs. I've got (5) S&W 500's that I reload for and (1) .460S&W. I'm currently loading 300gr hard cast TC GC slugs in my .460 and they are impressive.

Contrary to what some may think, anything the .460S&W can do, the S&W 500 can do, provided you reload. I've loaded bullets weighing from .223gr to 700gr. in my S&W 500's and I'm still working on loads for my .460S&W.

I'm not sure how to post pictures here yet so if you want to see some you'll have to bear with me until I figure it out, or someone schools me.

Welcome to The Handloader's Bench Ohiococnut ! Sbd777 gave me beartoothbullets.com website. 405 gr. hardcast for the 460 S&W. Haven't got any yet but have had good results with Hornady 300 gr. and Barnes 275 gr.                       Don

Don

Thanks for the welcome. So far I've only loaded The Hornady 240 and 300gr bullets, Nosler 260gr and Ranger Ricks custom 300gr hard cast TC GC. They've all got the accuracy but I haven't settled on a load for groundhawgs yet. I'll be using it for the closer 250yd and under shots this year. My gun is the 10 1/2" PC model with a Burris 3x-12x with ballistic plex and hunter knobs.

Ohiococonut, Mine is the 8 3/8. w/Burris 2x7 iluminated cross hairs. They didn't have the 10 in. Hunter available yet.  I've shot all but the Ranger Rick's bullets and got pretty good accuracy.I've used 47.0 gr. H-110 w/Hornady 240. 41.0 gr. H-110 w/300 gr. Hornady. 40.0 grs. H-110 w/Barnes 275 gr. XPB and 48.0 grs. H-110 w/200 gr. Barnes XPB.  The 41.0 grs. H-110 w/300 gr. was pretty accurate. The factory Hornady w/200 gr. SST was very accurate and chronoed out of my barrel 2127 fps. average. ought to be a little faster out of your 10 in. barrel. Why do you have 5 - .500 S&W's ?

LOL.  Good lord, OC.  Amazing.  Never have really entertained the idea of having more then one handgun or rifle in the same cartridge.  No doubt that's quite the collection you've got there, though.    >>  klallen
