I have found some loads in my short research online.I'll have to try some and report on the results. So far I have loaded a 115 hard cast semiwadcutter with 5 gr of Unique. This load shoots very well.It is over published max for older 32-20 handguns

I have a page of data in my old Lyman book but its for rifles and says not to use in handguns. If you want it I can scan it and post it.

That would be great.I recently moved and for the life of me, I can't find my old Lyman book. This is a rifle case, it has deeper primer pockets than handgun cases.I used small pistol primers. So far I have only had one failure to fire using small pistol primers.I will use rifle primers from now on though.

i have quite a few rifles and pistols in 32/20, including the limited edition ruger with the extra 32 hr cylinder. most of my 32/20 loading is for cowboy action shooting, thus the use of lead bullets and mild loads. i have loaded fairly heavy loads for a 32/20 contender, using jacketed bullets and slower rifle powders. my experience with the ruger pistol has been that anything you would be willing to shoot in a rifle chambered in this caliber would be perfectly safe in this particular pistol. this is the blackhawk pistol, not a reduced frame size like the bearcat. this same frame size has accomodated very heavy 357 mag loads for generations. with the greater amount of metal in the barrel and cylinder, because of the smaller diameter bullet and cartridge, you would be even safer than a heavy 357 load. the brass is probably the weak link in this equation, since it is rather thin. whatever pressure this brass could be loaded to in a rifle would be equally as safe in this ruger pistol, in my opinion. by the way i have been reloading for more than 45 years, and in almost every conceivable caliber.

the 32 mag will reach 1200 fps with a 115gr cast.i will bet you can get close to 1350 with the same bullet and a slow powder

So far I have only loaded 5 gr Unique with a 115 gr hardcast bullet. This shoots quite well in my Ruger.Very accurate,no recoil and seems to be pretty quick. My chronograph is not working so no chance to chrono them yet. This load is listed as maximum for rifles in my old Lyman book I recently found.I have found some heavy loads that are supposed to be safe in my Ruger. As I try these out I will report on my results
