I know I have read that you can load .38 loads into a .357 case. This is supposed to help eliminate/reduce the rings in the cylinder bore. Well I am getting tired of scrubbing those darn rings. Do I increase the powder a little to get more of a fill or just leave it the same and not worry of a smaller fill.
If loading the .357 case with 38 loads, will this affect anything in the .38 rounds like pressures and others?
Please tell me I can use the Small Pistol Primers because I have LOTS!

Yes, you can use standard small pistol primers. There is a fair amount of data out there for midrange and light .357 loads, which I presume is what you want. .38 Special loads in .357 cases will, if anything, have a lower pressure due to the larger case volume.

Look at Alliant's website... the difference between .38 and .357 target loads is .1 or .2 grains differnece on all their .38/.357 data

In my .357 cases I load 4.5- 4.6 gr of W231 or Univerasl Clays. with a 158 gr cast bullet. Same load with Unique work.

3.5 grs. of bullseye under a cast 150 gr. swc makes a nice mild load in .357 magnum cases....

I have used 5.1 grains of 231 under a 125 Remington JHP for Field Pistol competition. 231 does not seem to care whether it is in a 38spl case or a 357 case.

You're overthinking this. Just load light .357 loads.
