Would like to get a thread started to capture some pet loads. I have not started loading the 44 mag yet, but I do have serveral empty cases to get started.
I would specifically like to know if anyone has a favorite powder that is also used for 44 Special loads of same/similar projectile.

H110 at 22.7gr with that projectile. But mine gets flung from a Thompson Center Contender with 14" barrel.....very fast, very accurate!
Blue Dot at 14.5gr with a 265gr WFNGC piece of lead...same firearm. Not as fast, but it penetrates twice as far in newspaper(wet ones).

My favorite is the Hornady 240 gr with Win 296. My standard carry load is the 250 gr Keith with 8 or 9 gr's of Unique and standard primers, great hunting load with very low recoil and low noise.

24 gr h110 behind a 240 jsp or 250 k.marlin 94 and sbh. 7 gr ww 231 behind 200 rnfp prints to the same place in the sbh at 25 yds. these 2 loads will do all but the really big stuff.and you dont have to readjust the sights.

the xtp is a hornaday bullet, one of the better jacketed bullets, sbh is a ruger super blackhawk.a rossi m92 is a lever rifle or carbine,so is the 1894 marlin.250 k is a style of cast bullet, rnfp is roundnose, flat point.dont worry, you will get it figgered out and become an addict as well.

Excellent. I've got it now. As I type this, I am thinking there should be an acronym list somewhere in this forum. Maybe you guys have one started already.
So in the spirit of acronym soup -- My rifle is a a r700spsdm -- Remington 700 Special Purpose Synthetic Detachable Magazine in 7mm-08. My handgun is a venerable srh - Super Redhawk 7.5" barrel in 44 Mag.
Both are my style -- no frills, just serious business.
I'm sure some out there will want to give me a ration of business about shooting a short action round like the 7mm-08 while also owning a 44 mag. There is actual thought behind it all. Most of the big game I will ever hunt can easily be taken with the 7mm-08. Some would disagree, but I am a believer in shot placement. The 44mag is for wild hogs and also to accompany me while flyfishing in bear country (I'm hoping to do more flyfishing in bear country than I have).

Roger that Bandit....I work as a defense contractor. The program I work has an acronym list a mile long and we have new acronyms all the time that are not even on the list.
