Hello all

Anyone have any loads for a 10" barreled Wildey in .45 Win Mag.? Looking for something that will work the action consistantly.

Also can you use standard carbide .45 ACP dies or does it have to be the .45 Win. Mag. dies.

Thanks

M88.. My Contender loading manual, which is a compilation of several different companies, has the following loads specifically for the Wildey: All bullets are Speer;

200gr JHP-H110, starting-27.5gr=1570fps; Max-29.5gr=1775fps

200gr JHP-W296, starting-27.5gr=1634fps; Max-29.5gr=1741fps

200gr JHP-2400, starting-22.5gr=1511fps; Max-24.5gr=1675fps

225gr Mag JHP-H110, starting-26gr=1487fps; Max-28gr=1646fps

225gr Mag JHP-2400, starting-22gr=1471fps; Max-24gr=1621fps

225gr Mag JHP-W296, starting-26gr=1423fps; Max-28gr=1578fps

260gr Mag JHP-H110, starting-24.5gr=1447fps; Max-26.5gr=1609fps

260gr Mag JHP-W296, starting-24.5gr=1454fps; Max-26.5gr=1589fps

260gr Mag JHP 2400, starting-19gr=1304fps; Max-21gr=1436fps

All loads use large pistol magnum primer, in this case, CCI 350

Manual states that none of the loads listed are over 40,000CUP

I use my .45ACP dies to load my .45 Win Mag, but I'm shooting a Contender. You might just have to make up some dummy rounds, without primers, and see if they will cycle manually.

Hope this helps. Good shooting:thumbs:
