Just picked up a box of Hornaday 200gr FMJ-CT encapsulated, I know these are a full metal jacket but what is the meaning of CT & Encapsulated. Is there some where I can find the acronym's for the different bullet's? Hornaday doesn't even list these on their website.                                     Thanks

Hello,

The acronym is FMJ-CT= Full Metal Jacket, Combat Target Encapsulated Packed, I think that it means that it is a total metal jacket being that the back of the bullet is copper covered to make it "Green" like a TMJ= Total metal jacket.

I believe it is Hornady's was of making their project "Exclusive" to their name, just a marketing scheme it is like any other Total Metal Jacket.

Now from the research I did this is just a theory, I could be wrong.

Don't you just love that "green" BS? Slap that big ol' green leaf label on a bag full of good old cow manure and someone will pay a premium for it. It is, after all, recycled alfalfa/hay or whatever they fed the cattle. You're saving the world by recycling cow s**t. As if using manure for fertilizer is something new.

This Earth-worshipping religion of "Green" this or that has got me scratching my head. I think we'd be better off worshipping the creator and not the creation, but hey - that's just one man's opinion.
