The 38 Super is a semi-rimless cartridge which has become popular with IPSC shooters due to it's lower recoil which allows for faster recovery time.
The 38 Super does use the same case as the 38 Auto but the 38 Auto is loaded to much lower chamber pressures than that of the 38 Super.
Bullet weights run from 90 gr to 147 gr for jacketed and 100 gr to 158 gr lead.
It does take the same bullet diameter as the 9 mm Luger and .380 Auto.
