i haven't shot anything lighter then 400gr. in my .500 . and that was a light, factory plinker load. mostly to let friends shoot up so they didn't have to handle a full .500 load. and to get the brass. i doubt i'll go any lighter for the .500 but that light a bullet for the .50ae does sound interesting.
as of now, my primary load uses a 500 gr. cast averaging 1430fps. light bullets in the .500 aren't for me. matter of fact, i find myself going the opposite way with upcoming .500 development. once i get a weekend clear of work, i'm gonna see what a 700gr. cast does.
that ftx at 2000fps sure would be a flat shooting combo, though. for a big revolver, anyway.

What powder are you going to use for the 700gr? I have played around with everything H110, AA #9 but I get best accuracy from 350gr Sierra's over Li'l Gun

i have a load of h110. used that in the 500gr development. i'll start there with the 700's. data's claiming 1200+ fps with h110. breaking 1300+ fps with lilgun. don't really think i want to put myself through that, though. i'm aiming for 1100 fps, see how it feels and assess the situation from there. i'll change up powders then if i don't like what i'm seeing.
