I've tried quite a few different combinations but I always come back to a 200gn MonGold and 5.2grns of WST. I have never resized or trimmed cases but will throw them all out (200) and replace them with new brass after about 5 years (I only shoot about 1000 rounds a year).

Years ago I bought a 10-pound container (tells how long ago) of 452 AA. My load was 5.1 to 5.6 gr under a 200 H&G for my IPSC and IDPA guns. I also used the same load for plates and in my 25-2. I retired from competition a few years back due to a right shoulder separation.
My pin load is a bit of a special combo. I use 4 gr of 700x under the Lyman 45 Auto Rim SWC bullet that is supposed to cast 236 grains. My bullets come out lubed at 252 gr. I use a very light recoil spring. This is also my carry load/setup if carrying a 1911.
Most folks do not relize that a 1911 will feed revolver SWC bullets. A properly set up 1911 will feed unfired or resized empty cases from the magazine.

My 45 Super self-defense load (use at your own risk):
11.5g AA#7 in front of a 230g Rem Golden Sabre HP. Approach this load cautiously starting with max 45 ACP loads and only in a gun built for 45 Super. I get 1150 fps out of my Springfield V16 long slide

I tried 185 Americast lead RNFP's with 5.1 of Titegroup in my Sig 220 and was not particularly impressed. It did not seem to get me anything I did not already have with 230-gr and to load them up to get the velocity that I would like to see on a 185-gr projo started to cause leading. So I only had 50 loaded and sold the other 950...
My std load is 230-HCL-RN with 4.7 of Titegroup or else 5.1 of Titegroup under a 230-RN Rainier or FMJ.

Thanks for the load info guys. I plan to work on my 230grn loads later this week starting with some of this data.
Someone asked about ranier plated bullets. I have shot a couple thousand of these in .40 and have some on order for .45. They work great and feed well. The HP's do okay on expansion usually, but I have had some fail to expand. The flat points tend to do a "squash" musroom of sorts. Overall, nothing bad about them for the money.

I have a colt M1991 after trying several load combinations I stuck with 5.8 gr. of W231,CCI 300 primer, 200gr. hard cast SWC. I like W231 because I feel it burns fairly clean. The pistol runs well with it. I prefer federal cases I feel they last longer.

My favorite load for the 1911 is a Hensley & Gibbs #68 200 gr. SWC with 5.8 gr. of W231 and a Winchester LP primer. I use a taper crimp on this load. Have used this load for over twenty years. Started with it in IPSC shooting at our local range.

I carry, shoot & reload for the Star PD. This is an aluminum frame gun and does not like hot loads. I load the following for this gun:
Brass-any
Primers-Federal 100 or Winchester SP
Powder-Trail Boss- 5gr.
any good 180-185 gr bullet, I like the Hornady 185gr XTP
accurate #5- 7.4 gr is also a very good load with 185gr bullets.
The Ranier 180 gr HP is a very good bullet for practice or self defense.
