'bout like a 9x19. Very similar ballistics. Interarms and others imported a bunch of Stars in 9mm Largo some years back. I still see them from time to time. The Astra 400 (or 600, I forgot which) was in 9mm Largo, too.

It is a 9x23 (Luger is 9x19). This is a slightly hotter version of the 9x19. Cases are available from Midway, and 9x19 dies can be used. Any 9x19 load can be used.

Many 9 Largo (Long or 9mm Bergmann) will fire 9x19 ammo. I have a 9mm Largo Destroyer Carbine that works with any brass cased 9x19, but it doesn't eject Wolf (steel) cases.

CCI used to make 9mm Largo ammo, but currently doesn't.

If you handload, there is no problem. Surplus ammo is cheap and available, but corrosive.

I wouldn't go over 150.00-175.00. Often offered in SOG for just over 100.00. The 9mm Largo IS NOT more expensive than the 9mm Luger, it should be less because of the caliber.

He has an Astra 400 in 9mm too for $250.  I was thinking of offering him $300 for both and maybe going to $350 tops?

250.00 for the Astra is a pretty good price. 350.00 to 400.00 for the pair would be a good deal.

FYI: May Astra 400 fires 9mm Largo, 9mm Luger, 380, 38 Super and 9mm Makarov (jams a lot w/Makarov). The multi-caliber ammo option is what caused me to buy it. The Makarov ammo was pushing it, the bullet diameter is really too large, but I had to try it. I paid 150.00 for my Astra 400.

Astra 400's look goofy, kinda like a water pistol, and they are a blow-back action (the only 9mm ever mass produced), but they shoot really well. Mine really liked 38 Super ammo and did well with 9x19. I never bothered to shoot up the 9mm Largo I bought for it, everything else was available and cheaper.

I got the Star Super "B" in 9mm Largo today for $180 in the orginal box with the orginal paperwork. I checked the bore with my borelite and she is as clean as a whistle bright and shiney with no pitting.  He's down to $220 on the astra 400 but i'm going to wait and see.  The gun is in very good condition with around 95% bluing she's a keeper.

So the TOK is really a roller-locked carrier design similar to HK rifles?

Nope its like a 1911 with barrel lugs & link. The CZ-52 Czeck pistol had the rollers like the HK and Cetme do. I just heard there are problems with some CZ52 pistols too with the rollers.  I think they said they weren't staked in place.

There are tokarev's from different countries too like Russia, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Poland and China too. I have the chinese tok's in 9mm luger and in the 7,62x25 russian too.  There maybe more from other countries too i'm not sure.

Well, I guess I read that last link wrong then. It reads like a babelfish translation. Thanks for the clarification.

I just read that too and it sounds wrong too like their talking about a different gun. I know my CZ52 has rollers like the Cemte/HK do too. I just wanted to look for easy posting quick pics so everyone can see what were talking about.  Next time i'll proof read the posts these guys do with the pics thats confusing.  The minute you asked about the rollers/setup i knew something was wrong with that post.

Charley your right i have both pistols in the orginal Interarms boxes. Do you remember how much they were? ($$) I wonder how much the orginal prices were. He had German lugers too and they were $199 w/mismatched numbers.  I'm not sure how long ago that was.

I took my Astra 1921/400 and my Astra 600/43 out tonight to clean them.  My 600/43 has been cleaned not too long ago but after shooting it i just cleaned the barrel.  I lubed the frame rails and slide before i shot it.  Ok here's were it gets interesting as I disassembled my new to me astra 1921/400 i noticed right away the barrel bushing was still full of cosmoline/grease and the rest of the gun was bone dry.  The slide was still greased up too and it was shot in this condition too.  I have to say I have purchased a few surplus military guns now and while they were shot there still full of cosmoline.  I have no clue whats up with these gun owners.  One sks i purchased had the gas piston frozen because it was cleaned properly in the first place so when he shot it the cosmoline melted and shuck the gas piston to the gas tube when it cooled off.  I found this sks in the used rack still looking brand new he may have shot just a few boxes out of it and on the next outing the sks only single shot no semi-auto functioning at all. Have you ever seen this in your used guns?
