In California a person can have up to three firearms listed on their permit.

It used to be up to each county Sheriff how many guns a person could have on the premit.  I had four.  Then the state took over the CCW program and limited it to three.

How many guns can you have on your CCW?

Another change that occured when the state took over... previously if you qualified with let's say a 44 Magnum, you could carry any gun with equal or less power.   Now the state requires the individual to fire and qualify with each gun to be placed on the permit.

Any similar situations for you?

Now here's something kind of crazy to go with this subject.

A long time ago I bought a S&W 4" M29 from a friend and never registered it.  A couple weeks ago I sent in a form to put it in my name with the CA Dept of Justice.   I want it in my name so I can put it on my permit, without worrying about any problems from it being in someone elses name.

This evening I get a letter from a guy with a name similar to mine.  He said he got my registration confirmation, along with one for his gun he'd registered.

Stupid D of J sent it to the wrong guy...:stupid:    At least now I have the letter in hand and can put that gun on the permit if I desire.  Gotta wonder who's doing what in Sacramento...

here in Texas there is no guns listed on your CHL but it does have a restriction if you Qualified with a Revo you can only carry a Revo if you Qualified with a Semi-Auto you can carry anything .

as for as many guns can you carry here, if you can Conceal them you can carry them.

I love Texas and you know Kansas looks like its going to be like Texas when they get there carry up and running .

We only need to convert 2 more states to carry and this Country would be strong again.

I will get off my soap box now .

As TexasDoc said, no liimit in Texas. I can carry as many as I can afford to buy.

What you are saying pretty much re-enforces my picture of California as awfully retarded when it comes to guns. Can't expect much from a state that requires you to wait two weeks to excercise a right you already have.

no limit in s.d., no qualification in s.d., and no classes in s.d...

walk into the sheriff's office, hand him your $10, write your name and address down on the paper, and then leave w/ your permit. it is that fast, and it is that easy, and it is that cheap. renew every 4 years.

I am thinking very seriously about buying that little Beretta Tomcat 380 and sticking it in a inside the pants holster or an ankle holster at worst.I shot one yesterday and that little rascal would be nasty, plenty accurate too.The 380 is not a lot of firepower  but enough to civilize a thug if need be...:shameon:

For a small gun I'd like to get a 5 shot 357magnum or maybe a new S&W Walther PPK/S 380.  Either one, in stainless so I can carry it when hiking, bike riding or whatever, where a lot of sweat is involved.   I'm tempted towards the power of the 357, and will probably go with that cartridge.  If it's accurate and I can hit the target with it, it will work for me just fine.

The Tomcat is a .32 ACP. Berretta  does make a .380 with a tip up barrel, but I don't remember the model number. Unless the Tomcat has been greatly improved since I last saw them and heard about them from several friends, I'd pass on that one!

Virginia doesn't care what you strap on once you have the CCW.  Fortunately, I got grandfathered in via a CCW from MA, which I got before the silly class and testing requirements were in place.  (It can be embarrassing to have a speed loader fall out of the harness on the floor of a bank, right in front of a security type when you bend over to pick up a pen you dropped.  You get really strange looks.)

The best and the cheapest holster is the Don Hume Belt Slide. This little holster keeps the handgun very secure and  tight against your side . I have tried about every holster out there and this one is hard to beat.

That holster looks pretty good for the price.  How would it be for a full size 1911?
