i use a galco fletch for my 229.

your belt is the weak link. a non-dedicated gun belt will allow the pistol to sag away from your body, and won't distribute the weight well, resulting in discomfort and funny looking clothes as they'll sag a 17-year-old rapper's.

I live in Arizona. We have no restrictions on CCW. If you have a permit, you may carry anything legal, as many as you can carry, including legal Class 3.  There is no magazine restrictions, ammo restrictions, any of that garbage, and if you don't want to get a CCW permit, open carry is also legal.

Here are my two current CCW and off duty pistols.

The Split Decision from HIgh Noon looks like a well designed holster. I might have to order one.

I much prefer a holster that can easily be removed when entering a place where carrying a weapon isn't an option. The various belt slides are a PITA to remove, requiring you to pull your belt off, which is kinda stands out.

My carry guns, for the most part, ride In Don Hume IWB holsters....easy on, and easy off.

A good reputable gun shop that carries quality leather holsters can easily carry the same brand belts...One local store here carries Galco leather belts, I go through one a year just for use with my CCW.

There's a vendor at the Saxet gunshows here in SA who imports Mexican leather gunbelts. Good quality double cowhide with buckle for about $40. I buy and use those. A good gunbelt is a must for any holster use.

Anything and everything.  But my Les Baer 1911 is on my hip daily.  I carry it in a Milt Sparks Versa-Max II.  Like most, I have a box full of different holsters, but the VM-II is by far the best for me.  If I want to carry outside the waistband I carry in a El Paso Saddlery Street Combat.  The importance of a double thickness gun belt cannot be understated.  I bought mine from El Paso Saddlery also, and I have been using it for 5 years, it still looks like new.

As can be seen by my avatar, I've moved to PA, this is the last place I expect to be until the dirt sleep.  On topic, PA doesn't care what you have in your pocket, just so long as you have your permit.  Now, if you want to carry open, go for it.  Like VA, that is ok here (tho' it might raise a few eyebrows.)

Washington does not require any qualifications or registration. Thank Goodness. I can carry any  pistol I want.
But ironically if I get caught with a pocket knife with a blade over 4" they could take me to the slammer.

Timber

N.C. is wide open to carry what ever type of firearm or mfg you want.  Although a long list of establishments you can not carry makes you wonder why spend the money.

No to:

gov't offices

banks

schools (or properties associated with a school)/colleges

places that sell alcohol

any place displaying a no weapons sign ( great place for a criminal to strike).

parades/funerals

so you can carry on your property concealed as long as you do not have it posted.  Still got mine though at least now I can purchase firearms without having to get a permit to purchase anymore.  Think I should have spent the money on an FFL instead.
