They should require private establishments that prohibit CC to also post a sign (or lay down a mat at the front door) that says something like, "Armed robbers served first. All others please take a number."

As to the thread topic, our CCW law says this:

"For the purposes of this section, a concealed weapon means
any dirk, dirk knife, bowie knife, dagger, pistol, revolver, or any other
deadly or dangerous weapon. The provisions of this section shall not apply to
any lawfully possessed shotgun or rifle."

Re: Where and when a licensee CAN carry, it says this:

"While in any motor vehicle, inside the limits or confines of any
city, a person shall not carry a concealed weapon on or about his person
without a license to carry a concealed weapon. This shall not apply to any
firearm located in plain view whether it is loaded or unloaded. A firearm may
be concealed legally in a motor vehicle so long as the weapon is disassembled
or unloaded."

And ...

"The requirement to secure a license to carry a concealed weapon under
this section shall not apply to the following persons: (snip) Any person outside the limits of or confines of any city while engaged in lawful hunting, fishing, trapping or other lawful outdoor activity ... (another snip)."

And, where concealed weapons cannot be carried by a licensee:

"Any person obtaining a license under the provisions of section 18-3302, Idaho Code, shall not: (1)  Carry a concealed weapon in a courthouse, juvenile detention facility or jail, public or private school, except as provided in subsection (4)(f) of
section 18-3302D, Idaho Code."

That's about it. Here are the links to where our firearms laws are available to read, if anyone is interested: http://www.state.id.us/laws_rules/firearm.html. Most have little or no applicablility to CCW licensees, either by the letter of the law or the fact that CCW licensees typically don't do the kinds of things prohibited by law in the first place.

Texas laws are fairly simple. You cannot carry a handgun, concealed or otherwise, in:

educational institutions, secure areas of airports, courthouses, hospitals and nursing homes, polling places, or amusement parks that operate at least six months per year, and are over 50 acres in size (Thanks, Six Flags and Sea World). Otherwise, you are mostly good to go. Exceptions are any business deriving 51% or more of their gross sales from alcohol, which must be posted with a 51% sign, and the infamous ".30.06" sign. "30.06" refers to the section of the penal code regarding criminal tresspass by a CHL holder. If a business does NOT have the .30.06 sign clearly visible, or has the "ghostbuster" handgun in a circle with a slash over it, it is the business policy only, and has no legal weight. It isn't considered legal notice. Contrasting letters, minimum one inch high, in English AND Spanish. Otherwise, the business can go screw itself.

A LICENSE TO CARRY A CONCEALED HANDGUN) A PERSON LICENSED

UNDER SUBCHAPTER H, CHAPTER 411, GOVERNMENT CODE

(CONCEALED HANDGUN LAW), MAY NOT ENTER THIS PROPERTY WITH A

"CONFORME A LA SECCIÓN 30.06 DEL CÔDIGO PENAL (TRASPASAR

SUB-CAPITULO H, CAPITULO 411, CODIGO DE GOBIERNO (LEY DE
