While wroking this weekend, i did take a few minutes out to testfire the PA-63 I picked up last month. I found that the magazine is a bit different in profile from the Makarov, and my 9x18 handloads made for Mrs. Charley's Mak were too long for the magazine. Two would fit, but no more. Still was able to function test it, though. Found that:

DA pull is HEAVY!

Recoil is very close to Mak level, no big deal.

My Mak load ( Lee 95 gr RN, 3.9 Unique) would cycle fine, just too long. First time I uised 9x19 brass cut down and formed, instead of "real" 9x18 brass.

Will be doing some more shooting, seems like a keeper. Will probably add  a Wolfe spring kit, and maybe some Noval sights, like I did on the Mak.
