wife decided to retire her smith 686 after 9 faithful, flawless years of service. went out and picked up a new smith m&p 40 yesterday. going to go break it in today, and assuming all is as it should be, we'll find holsters and mags somewhere and get her transitioned over. i look for the m&p to be her primary carry piece within a month, and her only carry piece within 2 months - assuming break in etc goes well.
wish us luck - and if you know where to find holsters or mags for it, please let me know!

Let us know how the new piece shoots after you and the misses get some range time with it.
Good luck...

to be succinct, my wife enjoys this gun (she picked it, she paid for it, she learned the weapon, and she's shooting it - although i may sneak a mag in every now and again).
imo, this gun is an outstanding value for the money. we'll see if subsequent range trips and lead downrange change that opinion (i tend to be hypercritical of autoloading handguns: if it ain't a sig, it is suspect).
