I just picked up two used ruger MK pistols.  One was like new hardley shot(MKII) while the other is older(MKI) and is well used but they never cleaned the excess lead and bullet lube out of it.  It took me about an hour to just get it squeeky clean.  After disassembling it I took a small screwdriver and a rag in ever nook and cranny to pick out the excess lead build up.  This awesome gun was a real mess and it needed my help for sure.  Using G.I. Rifle Bore cleaner I washed off everything  plus the bore too.  After i dried it I lubed it up with moly so its good to test fire.  My point is I can't believe that no one takes these guns apart to clean them because its so easy to do.  I guess the guys in my area aren't to keen on cleaning and lubing their guns.  So far all my used guns either have not been shot or shot very little maybe a few rounds or well used and not cleaned or lubed properly.   Cleaning and properly lubing shouldn't be overlooked.                                BigBill
