I'm building a set of grips for my SBH I need the little metal insets that go into the grips so I can run a screw threw them to hold them to the frame.

I should have known to go there. I look on my catalog and found them and the cutter. I'll make an order here soon.

I'm playing with oak, I'm on mt second set screwed up the first one, but I'll cut them down for my Hi-standard Double Nine. I may have to go buy some more wood, the Brownell's kit had six screw and nuts so I guess I' make six sets of grips

In Texas we call that bois de arc or Osage orange. A friend of mine makes exquisite hand made knives and uses bois de arc for some of the handles. You are correct it does make a beautiful handle. The problem is you have to get some wood that is absolutely drie. As you know the sap is like sticky latex.
I gave him a huge very old fence post and I assume he is still making handles from it as he has not asked for more.

72- I found out years ago while attending gunsmith school that Osage orange is very irritating to the skin, and while cutting and sanding, breathing protection should be used. It does make great handles and grips. A friend found enough to make a stock and forend for an O/U shotgun, and after a lot of work, it looked great. good shooting .
