Looking for a CC revolver for the wife, and maybe for myself.  Started just looking for her, but found a model I like too.  Looked at several makes/models but I think we have settled on a Taurus 651 Protector in .38spc/.357mag.  Anybody have any good/bad reports on this pistol?  Thanks.

I bought that very gun for my father for CC.  I was so impressed with it, I almost bought one for myself.

What I can say about them:

1.  Excellant value
2.  Light and concealable
3.  Accurate enough
4.  Handle a variety of loads - including, or course, 38, 38+P, & 357 Mag.

I really think this is one well kept secret when it comes to a CC wheel gun.

I'm more of an automatic guy myself, but the shrouded hammer which allows both SA/DA shooting is great.  $$$ well spent in my opinion.

I bought this last summer a taurus 617b2 for CC and I am very happy with it.  I like the 7 shot cylander but I really like the reduced hammer on that one you are looking at, it apparently can still be shot s/a which I like at the range.   I wouldnt hesitate if I were you.  By the way, I was also very happy with the fixed notch sights too, with the loads I have shot through it so far (mostly 38 loads) it was surprisingly accurate, even from 25 yds.  My 14 yr old step daughter was able to shoot it pretty well first time also.  Good luck!!
