Midway has the dies or can get them, but I can't find brass or bullets for this caliber at Midway.

I think FN figured out that few if any US law enforcement officers or departments were terribly interested in carrying a .23 caliber handgun.

I have a real time justifying a 32 ACP for any type of defensive work, this 23 caliber maybe hot, but it doesn't have a track record based upon any service pistol I can find. But now is the chance for people to prove me wrong.

If you don't have a 300 criminal to go and practice on, try a wild boar or maybe just a barn yard pig that is in that weight range.

The problem that I see from my travels is that you have to be really a good shot, well practice to make some of "lighter" calibers work. Police officer in other countries worked with 32 ACPs and 380s for a number of years, they did do some great shots, but sometimes they had to use more than one shot. This is why the 9mm Ultra was introduced, sort of a souped up 380 with the bite of a 9mmL in +P power.

With this FN, you need to find the characteristic of how well it shoots, what kind of wound channel if can make and how accurate it is for 10 foot shots as well as 25 yard shots. Does it tumble upon entry and what kind of damage it inflicks to the subject at various ranges.

Just my thoughts,

Jerry

And then you'd have to convince American cops that they should give up their .4x autos and .3x wheelguns for a .22 on steroids. That would have been a tough sell (read: impossible) to me or any of my brothers in blue back in the day. Probably just as much so now as then. I've looked at a couple of those FNs over the past few months. I see nothing there that interests me for sporting, hunting, or self-defense, either in the platform or the ammunition. One thing it has going for it is magazine capacity, but that wouldn't make me cross the fence to buy one.

The patrol boys around here (both city and county) like the .4x autos, and they kill a fair number of bad guys with them. Doubt they'd give them up for the FN. I'd hate to be the FN salesman that tried to get that account.

I remember in the late 1970's we couldn't purchase Ruger Security sixes because production was ramped up for a large order from french law enforcement for man stopping 357 mag revolvers their 32 acp  wasn't up to the job of stopping terrorists.I wish I'd never traded off my 1976 SS 4" Ruger Security Six it was accurate and so easy to disassemble for cleaning,I carried it on backpacking trips with my handloaded pocket rockets.

My concealed carry pistol is a 640PD in 357 Mag, my hip pistol is a 45 ACP or a Glock Model 37 in 45 GAP.

Those stop just about anything, I have seen in the way of bad guys

I do have 9mms that I can carry, a HiPower and a STar PD, both will do the job and well.

It took one tour in Vietnam to realize the killing power of the M16 as compared to the M14. FN would just have to prove it to me.

We're only allowed to have 3  weapons on our ccw it's up the issuing agency how many one can have. The san bernardino police dept allows a ccw holder to list as many handguns as he or she cal qualify with I saw a shrinks ccw with 10 handguns on it. I have  357 mag,38 spec 2" & a 45acp.

Here in Ohio, it's just the fact that you have a CCW, the rest is up to you as far as weapons. I actually could carry more than one. My problem is trying to carry concealed my 444 Marlin T/C Contender Super 14 with a scope.
