I  am interested in purchasing a CZ SP01 Tactical or a CZ P 06 pistol in 40 cal for occasional shooting and personal defense.. Does anyone have any experience with or information concerning these products? As an alternate, I was also considering the Beretta Mod 96.

Thanks in advance

Go to Google. Put in the make and model of the pistol you're interested in and add "reviews". You'll probably get lots of hits.

I'm not sure about those models but if there as good as my CZ85DB/ 9mm luger , CZ83 / 9mm mak, CZ83 / 380acp and my CZ82 / 9mm mak they have to be great pistols.

My CZ85DB is my very first 9mm luger pistol.  I found this one in the used pistol case for just $299 in excellent like new condition.  Its hardley been shot.  My other CZ's were in the same used condition too and were great buys too.  I can say for a fact the CZ is an awesome line of quality pistols.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

The CZ82 in 9mm mak is a czech military pistol and its a C&R.  These were only $189 to $199 in excellent condition.  Its my new carry gun.  They came with two 12rd mags too and have a double action on the first shot.

Thanks for the feedback - I will look into getting one more closely as all of the reports I have read off line and yours is positive.

I bought a beater CZ82 (used of course) and had it reblued and then bought some Denis Marschal grips for it.  It now looks like new, shoots as good as it looks and is very reliable.  I'd pit this up against the CZ83 anyday for reliability and durability at half the costs:

Here's my CZ family;  My CZ83 in 380acp was only $199 used,  my CZ83 in 9mm mak was only $230 used both are in excellent condition.  My two CZ82's were $189 vg & $199 exc.  The CZ82's are orginally painted and some are stripping them and using epoxy paint to refinish them.  Mine are in there orginal condition.  You can get some awesome buys on used CZ's that were hardley out of the box.  My CZ83 in 9mm mak the purchaser didn't like the polygonal rifling so he purchased it and traded it in and never shot it so i got a new pistol at a used price.  I'm looking for a CZ75 in 9mm luger and a CZ83 in 32acp next.  that will about round out my CZ collection unless they import the CZ 83 in 7,62x25 tokarev.  Why buy new when used is just as good?  The center one is my CZ85DB in 9mm luger.   The only problem is you can't have just one.......:shameon:

I see the CZ83 in 9mm makarov is no longer offered in the usa.  I was told it was a rare piece when i purchased it.  It was used but never shot by the previous owner because he didn't like the polygonal rifling so it had to be sold as a used pistol.  Of course i got a NIB CZ83 in 9mm mak at a used pistol price.  All of my used CZ pistols came with there orginal boxes, plastic cases and there orginal papers too.

My point is checkout the used pistol/handgun case in your local dealers you just may find an awesome cz sitting there in excellent condition at a very affordable price.
