We do this on another board I hang out on quite a bit.;)
Feel free to tell us a little about yourself.
I`ll start this one out.My name is "handload" but many of you know me by the handle I use elsewhere as Timberghozt.I am 33 years old, married with two boys and a girl.My oldest son is into cars, motorcycles and girls and doesn`t reallly care for hunting but is an avid fisherman. My youngest son is the hunter. He is somewhere around this site.:?
I am a heavy equipment operator by trade, specifically a finish blade(motor grader) operator.I am the guy who gets that ground ready to lay asphalt on or pour concrete on.The last few years I have had this title called Foreman around my neck which is not all its cracked up to be.:P
I started this board out of my love of reloading/handloading and just as importantly Hunting.I am the only guy I know who has more empty primers in my decapping tray a week than most people shoot a year.I love to shoot and to reload. It has been very rewarding and relaxing for me and now I am beginning to teach my youngest son.
I am a Veteran US Army Cavalry Scout and a combat Vet of the first Gulf War. I spend a lot of my computer time donated to a Military board as a moderator.I spend equally as much time hanging out with a bunch of good guys and a few ladies on the BSB board discussing much of the same stuff we discuss here.I am not a super duper computer geek so bear with me as this board progresses.I am learning though and with the help of some good folks ,I would like to see this board for people who enjoy reloading grow.
That is enough about me,lets hear about you guys..
Gene

My handle is Saddlesore, which I use on a few other boards. Got the handle when CB's were the rage.
I'm 61 1/2 yrs ol, and have my grouchy moments but I am mellowing out with age.
I'm retired but worked about 30 years in the Underground Nuclear Testing field before Clinton put us out of business. Then I put about 6-7 years in the security industry designing and builing survellience and intrusion systems for large facilities like oil refineries and power plants in Saudi Arabia.
I ride mule all the time, and use them for elk hunting, oth packing and riding. Plus I work them in harness.
I don't shoot magnums, becsaue I can't. I shoot a lot of handgun, .357, 45, 44 mag, and 22.
My favorite load/cartridge is .06 with 220 gr RN.I do soem black powder huting when I can draw a tag and use both traditional and inline rifles, I suse .308 for deer, and 6.5 for antelope

Hi there, I'm Gunrunner. I enjoy firearms and I used to be a fanatic about distance running, so the handle Gunrunner seems to fit. My 52 year old legs don't want to do any more running, which leaves me more time for less painfull endeavors.
Recently I retired from the phone company and moved to northern Calif.
These days I spend my time reloading and shooting, trying to play guitar, taking walks with my wife or dog (the dog always wants to go, the wife sometimes), and hanging out on the internet. That's enough about me. It's nice to meet you all.

Im NH_Hunter, born and raised in New Hampshire. Was introduced to the world back in '88. Not much of a career for me, mostly concrete work. Hmmm. Never shot a big game animal, but that will change soon. Got a nice little RCBS Rock Chucker JR setup in my bedroom until my dad and myself get my reloading room built. I reload when I can, but that is very limited due to lack of funds. I didnt have that problem before I got my drivers license, but dang that petroleum stuff is expensive!
Ah yes, how could i forget the firearms? Here is a nice little concise list...
Ruger mk2LR .30-06 with a leupold VX1 2-7x33. Currently eating a 150 grain NP propelled by 50 grains of IMR 4064 in Winchester cases, which is all propelled by a Winchester large rifle primer.
Ruger Blackhawk .45LC 4 3/4" barrel. No loads for this thing yet.
Marlin 336A .30-30 24" barrel. No loads for this yet.
Ruger Red Label 20 guage 26" tubes. This beauty loves Rem Express #6's.
Revalations 225 (Savage 340) .30-30. Got this thing as a Christmas present. Really have no use for it. No loads yet.
Ruger m77/50 with a Redfield 2.5x20 scope (going to be changed soon). It likes 2 50 grain Pyrodex pellets behind a T/C PTX sabot all ignited by a musket cap.
Ruger #3 .45-70. Need to get a scope for this thing, and a new buttstock. That little mini-14/10/22 piece of plastic is brutal. Want to get it scoped eventually. Right now it is eating 350 grain Hornady Flat points in front of 50 grains of IMR 3031 in Winchester cases ignited by a Winchester large rifle primer. This thing is a handy little beauty, but like I said before, it may be beautiful, but it punches like Mike Tyson on every trigger pull.Last edited on Tue Feb 8th, 2005 03:19 AM by NH_Hunter

Just got my first press, a Dillon 550 since I intend to start shooting alot of pistol here soon. I've shot IPSC and USPSA a couple of times and believe the bug has bit me. Been meaning to start handloading for a while and figured I better quit wasting my money on factory loads. Also want to work up some loads for my Win Model 70 in .270 cause it shoots like crap with factory loads and maybe tighten up my Savage Model 10s .223 groups even tighter, though half MOA to begin with aint bad. I also just recently got my first caplock and find it a real blast ;) to shoot. Still working on loads for it too, though Drinks is giving me a hand when needed, trying to keep me from blowing my own head off.
Thats where I'm at with handloading and as far as everything else goes, I love being out doors and have just started hunting big game the last couple of years, and can't believe that I've been missing out on this for so long. Been in the Army for about 15 years and am looking forward to retiring and going to work back home in 'Bama, though suffering here in Texas aint bad in the meantime. Got several children and can't hardly keep my 6 year old out of the woods, though he is too small (physically) to shoot. His big brother is starting to shoot quite nicely with 20 ga, .22LR and looks like he may be a fair shot with a handgun. He took his first deer this year with the Remington 870. Unfortunately, my daughter thinks rabbits are for petting and deer for watching. Gonna have to talk with her mother and her bad influences.

Hello, I go by SuburbanHunter on BSB and here. I am fast approaching 50 years. I was an Army brat so I have lived all over the country. I've been in Colorado Springs for 11 years (the longest I've lived any one place). I've got a wife and 2 daughters.
I learned to shoot at a very young age as my father was a rifle instructor in one of his roles in the Army. No hunters in my immediate family so I started trying to teach myself to hunt as a teenager when I lived in Washington state. Took a couple of decades off from hunting to serve in the US Army as a helicopter Crew Chief. After the service I was exiled to California and focused on my civilian career and family.
Started hunting again since moving to Colorado. Hunted duck, pheasants and deer but elk hunting has become my major passion. I still haven't killed an elk yet but I get a little closer every year. Going to try coyote hunting soon.
I started reloading about 8 years ago with a box of very used gear I bought from a guy at work. I was very successfull developing loads for my .270 and have started working on loads for my .300 WinMag with promising results. I also loaded .38 special and .357 Mag until I sold that handgun to pay some bills.
Enough about me. I'm glad to be here!

Fella's;
I'm CB900F. I'm in my late 50's or early 20's, depending on who you're talkin' to & whether or not the subject under discussion is physical or mental.
I've lived most of my life in the northern rocky mountain west & am presently located in Montana. Grew up in Wyoming though, did ranch work for summer jobs & then joined the Army in 1965. Was a professional alpine ski instructor for 21 years on a weekend basis. Roadraced motorcycles for a while too. The CB900F turned into an AMA legal 1025cc superbike during that time. It's back on the street & absolutely shocks some of the kids on the crotch rockets. And we're back to that physical or mental thing according to my wife & kids.
I've reloaded since the early 70's or so, rifle & pistol, various caliber's. I was lucky enough to attend a military public high school & joined the jr. ROTC. Mostly because they gave me a Reminton 40X & all the .22 ammo I could shoot. Besides, how many of you can say that they shot guns in high school, in school? True story, there was a range in the basement. Hell, I even learned how to field strip fully automatic weapons in high school, the grease gun & the B.A.R., in class. I hope Teddy reads this & has a fatal coronary.
That's enough about me, where's the beer?

Hi,... I'm 300 SAUM,... and known as 7mm Magnum on BSB.
I'm presently 53 years of age, a Semi-Retired Mechanical Engineer / Farmer who is married, 2 Step-kids, and own a farm in North Eastern lower Michigan. I have lived the majority of my life here in Michigan,.. and my wife and I are planning a move out West as soon as the kids finish High School here. (about 2 more years to go)
I have been handloading since the early 80's and enjoy the time I spend doing so. I reload for the following calibers:
9mm Makarov
9mm Parabellum
44 Remington Magnum
7mm Magnum
7.7 Jap
303 British Enfield
30-06 Springfield
300 SAUM
8mm Mauser
12 Ga. Shotshells
I hunt mainly Whitetails and Bears here in Michigan and have been applying for a chance for an Elk hunt here for over 20 years with no luck as yet in getting drawn.
I have however made plans for this coming October to go out to Idaho to hunt for a bull Elk in the Dwarshak Region from the 9th of October until the 19th.
I spend much of my free time in the summer on my 27 ft.SeaRay Cruiser hunting down Steelhead, Salmon, & Trout on Lakes Michigan & Huron.
I have picked my name on this website for my other favorite hunting rifle that I have also become VERY attached to as well as my 7mm Mag. The more that I work with this cartridge the more I like it.
Well,... now that's enough about me,...... Who's buyin' the next round???? ;)

64 1/2, have been fishing since 3 but had to wait until I could cock a bb gun to start hunting at 5, went to a .410 at 6 and have now worked up to .50 ml.
I started out helping my cousin reload his .32-20 in the '50's got a Lee Eng. Lee Loader in 20ga and .30-30 in the early sixties, started on ml's in '68 and now have more guns than I can shoot or load for.
I also do a lot of my own machining, sizing dies, punches , reforming dies and sight pieces mostly, but I shall try anything at least once.
Favorite is my '92 .44-40, the first cf I shot, at about 7, it has been in the family since 1916.
Also have a '94 .32SP, in family since 1902 but I have trouble holding it due to the long octagon barrel and my rotator cuff rebuild 3 years ago.
Retired construction worker, living on 2 1/2 ac on a small private lake and just enjoying life.

Nice meeting all of y'all.
I was born in 1969 in Fairhope AL (right across the bay from Mobile) so I grew up fishing for sure. When I was still young though, I moved to Memphis TN. Grew up there for the most part, but still made many trips to south AL to visit family and go fishing. My father always hunted growing up and started to get the itch again when I was in college, so that would be when my hunting habbit took off. Once I graduated in 1992, I started working as an engineer in the auto industry. Work brought me to Knoxville TN (fartherst north I've ever lived). Met a wonderful lady at church and got married in 2000. She's a CPA and I'm an engineer, so don't get into a numbers argument with either one of us, especially her... she'll thow a spreadsheet on you so fast your head will spin. She's a dang good shot too... loves my .300 Win. Anyway, I got tired of getting pounded by the big three and went back to school a few years ago. Graduated in Dec. 2003 with my MBA from Univ. of Tenn.... GO VOLS!!! I'm now doing process improvement work for a shop-at-home cable network here in Knoxville.
I love hunting, fishing, guitars (the louder the better), and I get pretty dang scientific about reloading. I've spent most of my hunting time in Alabama and Brady TX. Most of my fishing in Alabama and on the gulf coast.
It's been a pleasure reading and learning about each of you. I know we'll all get a chance to chat more.

Well on here I am HogFan, and other places I go by Hudge. I grew up in Arkansas, and after attending college for 3 years, decided to get married and join the Air Force. My wife and I have 2 boys, and currently we are in MT. However, that will change 3 weeks from today, when we roll back to the south for my next assignment on the MS Gulf Coast. I started hunting rabbits, and squirrels with my uncle and cousins, and then moved on to deer with my father. I hunt with rifle, shotgun, bow and muzzle loader. Since moving to MT, I have had the three best years of hunting in my life, I just hope I have half the luck in MS I have had in MT. Currently, I do not reload, but it is very interesting to me. I hope to start in the next year, as I will be finishing up my second BS degree, and plan on taking a few years off before I start on my MBA. Besides hunting, I love to fish. I mainly trout fish, but I am ready to head back south and get in to a mess of largemouth bass! That's about it for me. I plan on using this board as a way of finding out what I need to get started hanloading.

I'm The_Mountaineer and hail from West Virginia also known as West-BY-GOD-Virginia to some of us! Born in 1974 I've lived here the majority of my life growing up on my family's 640 acre farm learning to hunt, fish and shoot from my father, grandfather and uncles. Joined the army in 1992 and served 8 years as an infantryman, indirect fire infantryman (mortarman) and spent a little time as a Special Forces Weapons Specialist. Went to college at West Virginia University and graduated with a degree in biology. Worked in Ohio, Maryland and Virginia as a field biologist and work as a biologist today but more in an administrative capacity (yuck!). Looking to go back to school for my masters some day or at least get another job elsewhere.
Most of my shooting and reloading has revolved around the animals I've hunted - deer, turkey, varmints, wild boar for the moment and hope to expand upon that.
I have a battery of hunting rifles to include: 22-250 Remington 700 VLS, 257 Roberts Ruger 77, 270 Winchester Winchester Model 70 Featherweight Classic, 30-06 Springfield Winchester Model 70 XTR, a 7STW re-chamber in a Winchester Model 70 XTR (hoping to use as a custom rifle platform), a 7 mm Remington Ultra Mag in Remington 700 Sendero Stainless Fluted, an SKS, a 50 caliber percussion rifle, a 22 long rifle Marlin 39A Golden, a 9mm Para Beretta 92 FS, S & W Model 29 44 Rem. Mag and a Colt Trooper Marksman 22 Long Rifle. Will continue to add and trade guns to suit my wants and needs.
About 5 years or so ago I started to really get into reloading by myself - though my father had reloaded for years. I really enjoy it as part of a quest for accuracy and enjoyment of shooting and hunting with my own handloads.
Really like this forum a lot and handload has really got a good thing going here!

Greetings to y'all, friends & neighbors!
Born & raised in San Antonio, Texas. Graduated high school in 1960. Attended the Gunsmithing school at Trinidad State Jr College in 1960-61. Been pesterin' gunsmiths for better than 40 years and still learning. Bought my first handgun when I was 14, a Colt Frontier Scout, 2 years later purchased 2 -1st generation Colt Single Action Army chambered for the .44 S&W Special. It has been a passionate love affair with firearms and hunting ever since. A long time advocate of the 6.5 bore for any game animal except the big bears. Interested in getting into "F" Class Long Range competition as a learning experience and for fun.
My idea of the best of times is sitting around the fire at hunting camp, feasting on fried venison backstrap, complimented with 'taters(any style), ranch beans, sliced tomatoes & sliced onions, tortillas, salsa picante on the side. After supper discussions with hunting companions telling "tall tales & true adventures". Place in my hand a 10 ounce glass or mug, a shot of JTS Brown topped off with clear branch water and we will be friends for life.
Thats enough about me for now.....we all got better things to do. Like shootin', building accurate rifles and handloading for our favorite flavor of the day cartridge. And trying to stay out of big cities.
Looking forward to spending time and sharing knowledge with you fellers. Hope you feel the same.
Ol' John
PS...Almost forgot...Jalapeno's to help purify the blood and have been known on occasion to imbibe the nectar of the gods from the Blue Agave.

Like Gene I spend a fair bit of time passing on what I've learnt(and what I am still learning) to my son who is 13.
Recognise a fair few from other boards and hope to get to know the rest of you better as time goes on.
Have a good one .

Howdy everyone!! I go by shane06fl here and just about every other site I seem live on. I am almost 32, live just north or Orlando FLA, sometimes happily married with one boy and a girl. been handloading now for about 4 years. My son started shooting at 5 years old and killed his first two deer at 9 with a .35 Rem and at 11 now he loads for that now under my carefull eye.
So far I load for 30.06, .44 rem mag, .444, .308 win, .35 rem, .357mag, .270wsm and 30-30win. I cast my own slugs for my front stuffers and prefer black powder even in my inlines. The .444 and .270wsm are my latest toys and have worked up loads but haven't made it to the range yet. yes it is killing me.

I would like to introduce myself.I am born and raised in New Brunswick,Canada. I have beenan avid hunter and fisherman all my life and a trapper for 25+ years . I am currently the vp of an outfitters and trappers groups in N.B. I am also a small outfitter that caters to small grous of 4-6 hunters per week and specialize in blackbear hunting here in the east for both archery and guns. We also offer other hunts like deer and upland and migratory birds along with the coyote . I am married for 31 years and have a 21 year old son . I am rapidly thinking about getting into re-loading so think this site might be a good one to take lessons from .
