A bill to have manufacturers put serial numbers on handgun bullets passed the state senate public safety committee on Tuesday.   The state attorney general said they'll solve a lot of crimes if it becomes law.  He also said criminals could find ways around the law.      What the heck am I missing here???

The general counsel of SAAMI said manufacturers will either have to stop selling in California or possibly spend in the hundreds of millions of dollars in re-tooling.

This is all thanks to state senator joseph dunn, democrat-garden grove.   (I bet this guy has never shot a gun but has a concealed weapons permit.)

Fortunately on our side is US Representative Duncan Hunter, Republican-Alpine.   Mr Hunter chairs the House Armed Services Commmittee and is not in favor of this measure.   Let's hope he's influential in stopping this in it's tracks.

The proponents for this measure say that it's only for handgun bullets, but admit that many handgun bullets are used in rifles.   Purchasers will pay up to a halfpenny per bullet to fund record keeping by the state department of justice.   The bullet vendors will have to pay $50 a year to register with the state.

You know, I really like where I live.  But I sure can't stand the way all the liberal thinking, spend your tax money on anything, hypocrytical politicians in this state are always trying to send me down the river without a life jacket.     I do what I can in the way of sending e-mails and regular letters sometimes.  But it's frustrating when I get back either nothing or something saying the "issue is being thought out by all parties".    Yeah, right.    What a bunch of nuts!!!

I don't know where the "control" on guns will end, but I sure don't like where it's headed.      GR

Idiots they are!

What good would a serial numbered bullet do?  Sure you might know what mfr. made the bullet and perhaps track the sale but unless they have you register what bullets you purchase the only thing it does is raise costs for everyone.   Totally useless.  It neither tracks the owner of the bullet or the firearm.  Isn't that what a CSI ballistics lab is supposed to do? - determine cartridge used from bullet, whether rifle, pistol, and all those other "cool" things forensic scientists are supposed to be able to do?

Totally retarded proposition to me.

This will work just about as well as "Ballistic Fingerprinting". That was a total farce in the state of Maryland, and cost the taxpayers there several million dollars before they abondanded the whole system, and mothballed all of the expensive equipment without it ever sucessfully used to convict a single person.  billt

All this will do is show who BOUGHT the bullet.  Doesn't mean who bought it did the crime.

Politicians really are a bunch of morons.

You will need a microscope to see the numbers on the Hornady 17 gr V-max because this is now chambered in a handgun. The only thing worst than a Liberial is two of them . It is hard to believe how much i hate those bastards. :pissed::thumbs1: The law is :nut:'s CSI won't be able to piece this little bullet back together when it hit the target.

With the way the fruits and nuts run this place I'm surprised I can still walk out of a store with a can of gunpowder.   Before you know it there will be a 10 day background check for powder or primers.

Would anyone like to take Feinstein and Boxer off my hands?  :troll::troll:

I doubt it.   Any firearms owner would be a nutty fruit to want either of them around.

I'm going to be watching for more news of this issue and will let you know if anything major happens.   Meanwhile..........:sofa:

these idiots have more time on there hands it seems. They could never link it to who bought  it. i just dont see it. unless the only way is to buy it with a credit card. or it is going to go to the chip thing. where u go and have that chip put in you  they scan the chip then scan the iteams bought and then u got the match. the only thing this may do is start the mark of the beast stuff.
