sdb777 is absolutely right.  Huckabee by accounts seems to be a very good, smart and decent man and probably is.

However, if you asked me to sum him up, I would describe him as a quasi-socialist baptist preacher that like guns.

i really don't see alot of difference between the parties anymore...   my belief as of late is it's just bussiness with any politician.. get into office, start getting your salery, get your kick backs and payments from bussiness you can help out,and just keep getting richer on the backs of americans.......   any of them will tell the public anything they need to get elected and lots of folks seem to believe....   it's kinda kinda like believeing in santa claus to me...  and i forgot about him about 35 years ago...   i guess corruption is just a part of politics and it ain't gonna ever change ... it's the nature of the beast...................................................

Guys, I'm old enough to have seen the parties change over the course of the last many years.  Yes, I'm a GOF (Geriatric Ol' Fart).

Republicans are Democrats.  That being said, I will explain.  The Republican Party has migrated to the left enough, they take their stands about where the Democratic Party stands were in the 40's and 50's.

Democrats are not the Democrats as I knew them early on.  They've gone way to far to the left.  If the truth was known, they've become more Communist than the Soviet Union ever was, but not quite as Communistic as Lenin was.  Lenin's Communism was an ideal of his that the USSR never attained-they fell short.

You will never get the two best candidates to run for President, as those people won't subject themselves to the viciousness of the press...and I can't blame 'em.

I certainly agree wholeheartedly with a previous post about the size difference of piles.  There's not a whole lot to choose from.

I've not yet decided who'll get my vote, but it sure as hell won't be Hillary or the Muslin that's running.  Hillary is one of the meanest women I've ever known, extremely vindictive, too.  I guess I'm one of the few that's "won" in an argument with her.  So, I guess my one claim to fame would be that I pissed her off once when she was with the Rose Law Firm.  Or maybe it was twice since I held my ground.

Another view of Arkansas' Governor-I see him as a real candidate.  Sure, he went slightly crazy when he lost some weight and thought everyone else should, too.  However, I kinda put that down as something akin to a "reformed reformer", who seem to have tunnel vision on some subjects.  However, I sincerely doubt that he'd sign any new gun restriction laws.  And, he's conservative enough I doubt that he'd agree to any of B.S. from the UN on guns.  At this point, to me, he's a viable candidate - at least he's in the small pile.  Thompson?  He's viable at this point.  Ron Paul screwed himself with his statement on assault rifles-he's off my list.

Fred Thompson is the only serious candidate from either party that I like, and I'm not too thrilled with him.  He does seem to be a Goldwater republican, and that ain't bad.

As gunowners we can not afford the dems to control both houses of congress and the whitehouse.  Hillary is evil-and I mean that in the literal sense.  She's driven to hold power and  the more she has t he better she likes it.

Obama is a well spoken guy who's clueless.  The breck girl is the most liberal of all of them.  Bill Richardson is the only democrat I could vote for and I really don't like him much.

I'm a conservative-in the image of Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan.  Therefore I will be very restricted as to whom I can cast my vote in support of.  Most likely Fred Thompson, Mike Huckabee or possibly (holding my nose) John McCain.

Dirty Dingus,

I think you have it pretty well diagnosed.  The Dems have been usurped by the socialists and marxist and the Rep. are slowly being usrped by the sopcialists.  Having been an old USAFSS Radio Intercept Optr in Taiwan I heard many phrases from the Communist propaganda station out of Radio Peking.  Those same phrases are being used by Hillary today.

As far as voting there is no candidate that I will vote for in the coming election, I'm going to write in someone but not sure who at this time.

jjb2,

I have heard of Ron Paul and have thoughts of voting for him, I'm sure he can't be as liberal as those other clowns.  What else is there to do.

I'm with you Gary! They are all CFR socialist elites except Ron Paul. There is really no difference between the Republicans and the democrap's. They have the same agenda. Open borders with Canada and Mexico.  One big happy family. North American Union by 2010. Watch the gun grabbers come out of the closet after the election. I'm curious to see how the Supreme Court will rule the pending case on the second amendment in DC.

17hmr, Your right on and once they destroy the Second amendment all other rights will fall.  They have had great success with the destruction of the first amendment, we now have to say those things that are politically correct and the thought police are watching us very closely.   I think the next four years in this country will be very critical. Rush always tells us that we have been down before and have recovered but at this point in history I can not agree with him.  It doesn't mean however that I am giving up I will fight it to the end.

Call me a fear munger but I firmly believe the housing crisis was started by design. You just cannot convince me that the people that run the Federal Reserve (own by the Rockefeller's which are founders of the CFR) mortgage company's and the banks are dumb enough to loan money to people with no collateral and no down payment. The plan is to take the dollar value down to damn near nothing and then out comes the Amero. He who controls the money , controls the masses. By this time the American people won't care about open borders or the North American Union. We, the working class will  be trying to find  food and shelter for our family's. Crime will be rampant. The president will declare marshal law. All registered guns will be confiscated. This explains why every candidate for president with exception of Ron Paul belong to the CFR. In order for this to work, they have to pass the torch to one of there CFR brethren. Maybe I am a fear munger, but I really do believe there is something going down behind the American people and our Representatives backs. Something we can't even vote on. For you non believers, google NAU or CFR. You will be enlightened.

I think your probably right all the way.  When I got out of the USAF in 1960 you had to have X amount down so much a month.  I can not believe the size of houses being built in our area.  I look at those houses and wonder where on earth people  get the money to buy them.  I don't know of any time in my life I could have afforded that kind of house.  The standard nice two bedroom house with garage, probably up to 1400 sq. ft. ran right at $15,000.00.  We built a pre-cut home for $10,000 otherwise eveything was packaged to build the house less the kitchen cabinets of which I built.  I built the foudation and they sent a carpenter to sub the house.  I finshed it and we are still living in it.  We are warm and we are comfortable.  My total gross income for my lifetime wouldn't pay for one  these new houses they are building today.  If all bills came due tomorrow there wouldn't be enough green back dollars printed to pay the bills.

My post could be a stretch OK Hunter but I live in the most anti gun socialistic state in the union. Kalifornia!. We are the Guinea pigs and breeding ground for most socialist anti gun laws. I own 1800 acres in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada's that I've hunt deer, Bear, Pigs, Dove, Pigeon, Squirrel's, Rabbit, Coyote and Bobcat on for 35 years. I can no longer hunt my own property because it happens to be in a Condor habitat area. The reason I can no longer hunt on my property is because they banned the use of lead. That includes the use of .22 Rim fire and .17 caliber.( as in 17HMR) "Not sure about shotgun yet". There is know alternative for lead for any rim fire as of today.  So I can't even take my grand kids up to plink. In the 35 plus years I have owned the property I have never seen a Condor. Now I hear that if the sheep of Kalifornia don't yell to loud that Missouri and New Jersey might try a lead ban. If they can't legally go after the guns then lets go for the ammo. Lets put a tax so high on ammo that your average Joe can no longer afford it. Or lets ban the use of lead  all together under the endangered species act. There is a micro stamp law on the table right now that would require each pistol sold in kalifornia to have a devise that would stamp the case with a mark specifically to the owner of that pistol. No pistol manufacture has devised and pistol that will micro stamp yet.  90% of the manufacturer's don't even want to mess with it.  So the socialist's get their way again. No more pistols shipped to Kalifornia. The stuff I wrote about in that post may come across as fear mongering to a person from Oklahoma. The people in Oklahoma just haven't lived it (YET!) Lets just see what happens if Obama or Hillary get elected. Especially if the democrats hold the majority in both houses. Or even McCain! I don't think he scores to well with the NRA either. If I am a fear monger, I have good reason to be.

17hmr,

It's the total pits, as all socialists and communists do, they take a little chunk at a time until the whole pie is gone.  They probably have their little spies watching you all the time.  I don't know if its possible but I would go to a heavier caliber with nonlead bullets, I haven't checked to see what is available, probably Midway would be a good place to look.  Oh by the way, up here in Oregon we now call California "Mexifornia".
